Not to be preachy, but it isn't healthy to escape/engage those feelings with entertainment. If you have bad mental states, work in your mental health, be responsible for yourself.

Path of Exile is sensless gring that reminds me old times at the farm - so much work for pittance...
It makes me appreciate current times more no matter how bad they are.

Yes, let's use random popular phrases as life advice.

If time heals all wounds, then you just need to play enough games to fix your health.

There's a lot of free time remaining when taking care of mental health matters and that's where games come in.

KSP RP-1 works for me. Introspective, contemplative, skill mostly consists of remembering what to do.

My main source of "depression" (not real depression) is that no games are coming out that I even want to play.

So it's usually something like Deus Ex or System Shock 2 trying out a whacky build or playstyle. They never seem to get boring for me.

Anything with good music. Music just sounds so good when you're depressed. Also I prefer replaying skill based games I already have decent strats for when depressed.

I am not depressed very often tho anymore.
