Space Sim FreeLancer: Privateer
Haven't played an Elite game yet, but Privateer is mediocre. The whole game's either boring trading or a boring, worse version of Wing Commander combat. You can just use your afterburners to run away from every fight, too. There just isn't enough content in the sandbox: it's all getting money to upgrade your ship to get more money - playing it after a better trading game like Sea Dogs is a dull experience. I haven't played any of the entries yet, but I think the X series would be a better fit for this category from what I've read. Even an 80s sim like Space Rogue is better than Privateer, in my opinion.

if you are on your deathbed, would you say “I wish I would’ve played more games”?
Among other sentiments, most certainly. If you think games are a waste of time you are playing the wrong games/not engaging with them in a fruitful way. By all means don't use all your time on games, but that goes for anything and everything, gotta balance.

Sacrifice(2000) is a great and one-of-a-kind game. It's one of the few games with no clear substitute in sight.
I tried thud but could get a handle on it. Definitely unique.
No problem, I'll gladly handle it for you

Silent Hill 1-3, if you don’t have time for all of them, just play 2.
Don’t buy any of the shitty remasters or rereleases, emulate them.
