Looking for games, I found this crappy looking, but apparently free MMORPG. Here is some info for those who care:
Although Future Infinity, the dynamic lo-fantasy RPG, has been available in beta format since August, CJStudios have decided to declare the game complete enough to allow large-scale sign ups.
The game - located at http://futureinfinity.com - is the most recent project of CJX, founder of CJStudios. Although being browser-based (the player need not download a client or any plugins) Future Infinity features 2D graphics and dynamic movement and battles, as well as speedy loading times and a mammoth database.
The concept is the rather original "I am a player, I battle, build and buy to survive", but Future Infinity goes further than this; inspired by a certain Nintento fad, almost 20 creatures can be caught, trained and used to help in battles, allow the player to move further (for example, riding a horse) or can even be killed to provide the player with food or even clothing resources.
Items (which currently come in three stereotypical types; Sheild, Armour and weapon) can be built from raw materials that can be bought from shops (more on those later) or harvested from the map. Not content with the 330+ items? There is an in-depth feature to invent your own, deciding which materials are used and in what quantity.
The game can be played in many different ways. You can battle your way to top place, obviously, but you can combine this with good trading skills (build over 20 different shops, banks, markets and casinos), farming skills and catching / training skills. Ultimately, its the most well-rounded player that will take top place.
CJX, creator of the game, says that he backs CJStudios' decision to make the game free to everybody whole-heartedly. "I put a lot of work into this, but ultimately its the players that matter, not the profit". Despite this, there will be an option to pay your way into the game; a Gold Account (the best option) costs around £10 in a one off payment and give players better movement and game advantages. There is also the option to buy Experience and Gold for little under £3.
Future Infinity is expected to undergo monthly updates until the end of 2007 when it will either have "crashed and burned" or flourished into something that needs more moderation than updates.
