Nice to see a necro of ones own thread. I'd completely forgotten.

Thank you to all for all the replies. The original aim was to get people to talk about and describe musical 'moments' within a game.

My example of returning to Kuldahar after delving deep in unsafe places; it just wouldn't be the same if that perfect piece of music didn't wash over you shortly after your return.

Lots of great replies. Time to replay some games.

9 years ago. Crazy.

Walking out of the boat for the first time into Seyda Neen accompanied by that Morrowind soundtrack. Epic shit.

Same for me!
Action RPGs aside, the Neverwinter Nights theme song was an earworm as well, but maybe that's because it was my first CRPG and it felt epic to me back then.
Every time I loaded up the game, I would listen to the theme song for a while before continuing to play, because it kind of set the mood.

I can't get this song out of my head:

and Samson protect me.

Made me want to join Salvation Church.

I agree with Fallout, Arcanum, P:T, Diablo OSTs, Betrayal at Krondor menu theme and several others but I don't want to repeat them.

It's something I just played very recently but walking out of Xardas' tower and hearing the New World theme for the first time is really godly.

The Technomancer had a really good OST, and Olivier Deriviere is a pretty underrated VG music composer. The themes for different locations were based on the time, and the night time music Mutant Valley was really good (iirc, it was 35:50 in the video,) I think it complemented the general atmosphere of different locations really well.
