I got 4 packs with my "retail" version of this game, from what i gather they give some additional items. So should i actiave them? Or do they make game too easy without adding anything cool?

They take some of the challenge away from the initial areas but you'll start finding better equipment quite early into the game. If this is your first playthrough I suggest you ditch the stuff somewhere.

Nothing you get is really that overpowered. That Weathered 10mm pistol is slightly better than the other pistols you find and the biggest problem is once you're out of the 60 bullets you start, you won't get any for a while. Same for the grenade launcher. The armors are shit armors that get replaced by leader armor. You probably get better stuff 2 - 3 hours into the game. The extra stuff was done just perfectly.
