Oh, and I'll buy the pirated version, of course.
So, no smug replies 'like it or not, you'll buy it anyway'.
I will NOT.
Bethsoft employees should be shipping modders like me free copies of the game, because only us prevented the game from sinking into murky, stinky waters of obscurity, which it rightfully deserved.

I loved Morrowind. It had many, many flaws, but I loved it anyway, because it was the only game that offered that big a world, where you can do anything. Well, almost. Kind of. You can do some things. And some of them might be interesting.
All right, you can't do everything, NPCs suck, the quests suck. But at least, you can go anywhere, there is a big number of factions and quests (which are very badly designed). But it was not a bad game.
I never played Daggerfall, and never will, but I think I would like it much more than Morrowind. I can't find a copy anywhere though.

With all it's flaws, you gotta admit - it made a great modding playground!
If only scripting system was not so damn limited, largely hard-coded, buggy, glitchy, bitchy, fucking stupid, shitty.. hmm, sorry, kinda got carried away. Oh, the memories of of debugging 10kbs of code for a day, only to find out that there is not my bug, but a feature of the editor not working as expected (or not working at all).*

I actuallly enjoyed (and still do) the scripting around these limitations - there were alot of glitches, true, but there were even more Kids beeing to stupid to understand the simplest if/elseif-structure and crying over the oh so difficult scripting language. And the same kids released talent-free Meshes with their pirated 3dsmax-Versions ...
