Well, if you let the timer run out, apparently the Reapers really do show up and kill everyone:

So I guess you could "choose" to not activate The Project by just not pressing the button for an hour and a half.

You know, the sheer fact they DID include that is INCLINE for Bioware. Now they just need to work on a better execution...

Yeah. When I first saw the 2-day countdown, I wondered just how many sad, bored people let the game sit there for 2 days just to see what happens when the clock hit 0...

2 days? Seriously? Looks more like a joke/easter egg than an incline to me.

Nah, I doubt they plan on going in that direction. Their top priority is to avoid frustrating the "average gamer", after all.

No, when you arrive at the station the timer is on two days and two hours or something but then you get dead for two days and you wake up with like less than two hours to go. So at least you'd have to wait two hours. I haven't tried it, though. It really does sound more like an easter egg than anything else. Like whoops, Guybrush can only hold his breath for ten minutes and now he's dead! Didn't think you could die in a LucasArts game, did you? Only in the newer games, sonny. Order a hintbook, bloat, decompose and reload.
