uuh.. no.Seems to have an "Another World" vibe.
Hi everyone,
We're happy to announce that Dungeon of the Endless has officially released. The [1.0.15] version is now available on Steam.
....
Here's a list of the main additions to this version (* those were not in the previous Branch version):
- Multiplayer coop mode (with improvements*)
- HD GUI option
- New game screen (start, lift, finale…)
- Journal (highscore, stats)
- Album*
- Secret backstories*
- 3 new spaceships*
- 6 new items with passive skill*
- Balancing (heroes, mobs, spaceship, modules*)
- Steam Achievements*
- Steam Trading Cards / Badges / wallpapers / emoticons*
- OST available in the game files*
- And Mac version (Warning: no multiplayer cross-platform and heroes shortcuts are disabled)
There are ways to deal with that, plus in the later era of early access they changed it so as soon as you pick up the crystal all the doors open so you can no longer selectively open shit to make the escape easier. There are still ideal ways of managing the escape but with the "All doors open" rule it's based more on playing properly than taking advantage of a lucky dungeon floor layout.I actually did play this in Early Access, and I died and got mad a lot, which is a good sign. The run to the exit is a fucking pain in the ass. That's where the "gotcha" portion of the Roguelike formula comes from in this game, because if you open up too many rooms (or not enough), mismanage your resources/structures, don't turn on enough lights, etc., you're fucked.
That's awesome. Haven't had any payoffs like that from the special party banter yet, (The generic elevator dialog (And the elevator itself) was only added a week or two ago IIRC, and I think the specific character on character dialog may have been held until release) wonder if there are any positive outcomes. Like a bro-team forms and the two party members both get a free level or a unique passive trait or something.Played this last night. A lot. Played the beta as well, but all the extra fluff makes it much more fun.
Unlocked the Armory module (start with 4 stronger heroes, starting gear, can't hire new dudes), and whaddya know, 2 of my party members have a Secret Biography thing going. Interesting, let's see where this will lead...
...Three floors later, one party member kills the second one involved in the plot during an elevator scene. Suddenly I'm down to three! Was a fun little moment. Too bad the "winner" died next floor after encountering a new mob type that seems to give rather few fucks about melee chars.
Game's fun.
Wait a minute, I swear I've seen that spaceship before in an Endless Legend video.
Yeah, skip to 00:53.
So this is a prequel?
You sure? I thought it's Space - Dungeon - Legend continuity-wise.Endless continuity is Dungeon of the Endless first, then Endless Legend, then Endless Space. You can figure that out since Opbot is in all three games (Playable character in Dungeon, discovered by the Vaulters (Who are descendents of the crashed ship in Dungeon) in Legend, and a recruitable hero looking to find Auriga again in Space).

Lore wise DotE is a prequel to EL and ES in the current timeline.
A spaceship from Endless Space crashlands on a planet called Auriga. From the survivors will be born the EL faction of the Vaulters. The Vaulters then manage to escape Auriga and become the latest faction in ES (curently unlocked by purchasing the founder's pack of DotE).
There are some other minor things: Hikensha, a hero in DotE and survivor of the crash, is a Hissho from ES.
Opbot, a Hero medical droid in DotE escapes the planet with the Vaulters and becomes a recruitable character in ES.
The planet Auriga is also added to ES and is home to a new Galactic Wonder: the Husk of Knowledge, probably the dungeon of DotE.
Also there is reason to speculate that the Necrophages of EL (and common enemy in DotE) will evolve into the Cravers of ES. There are also crystaline enemies in DotE who are in appearance similar to Harmony from ES.
But no!The links you just posted also agree with the Space > Dungeon > Legend timeline.
I genuinely like Endless Space but I'm in the relative minority. It's maybe because I came to it fairly late after they had knocked out a fair number of patches. The combat's still kinda fucky (EL's combat's weird but it's still a good step up from ES card game) but the interface and music is great like EL, and I found the system building/management super satisfying. My favorite part of ES was just leaning back and expanding/improving my systems. Even though I took one of the more warlike races to do it.It's pretty interesting stuff. I hear that Endless Space is pretty crappy, but I'm still somewhat intrigued since EL and DotE are so good. Is there any enjoyment in Endless Space?
isn't the timeline space -> dungeon -> legend -> disharmony?
