Does Your Game Need a Composer in the style of Chrono, Zelda or Final Fantasy?

eric_s some stuff to critique

(he's a real game dev/musician unlike these clowns. Maybe you've heard about Barkley shut up and jam: Gaiden? He's chef boyardee)
Nah, I'm not a real musician, I just make music because I enjoy it and nobody else I work with does. Haven't listened to them all yet but what I've heard is pretty impressive. I think the guy to ask about this kind of music would be Excommunicator.

What VSTs are you using RebeccaETripp?

Don't be so modest.

It sounds like you haven't really started using Eastwest yet. I can hear garritan and probably ProjectSAM. That's good if you're aiming for an "oldschool" or midi inspired sound and the inspirations are clear, but it will be hard to get paid work (enough to live off) using those libraries. Still, it's always good to have a niche and play towards that strength even if it isn't particularly marketable. Eventually you'll get a reputation for it and the projects will be able to come to you.
There's plenty of forums out there full of people who would love to have this kind of music in their game, hopefully some of those have money too.

There's some good music there. You're prolific and clearly know your stuff.

Thanks! You're right about that... I literally just got Eastwest, as well as Ableton Live. And now, each song I compose sounds better and crisper than the last. There is sort of a fuzziness to the Garritan and Project Sam libraries- however, with Ableton Live, I have a lot more control over my sounds. Until May, though, I didn't use anything but Garritan and a keyboard for samples.
