Yeah, it was news to me that a book set in the Deus Ex universe was on the way and that didn't really surprise me much but action figures?!? You've got to love marketing.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I'd buy JC Denton if he came with an in-built voice module. When you poke his belly, he says "A BOMB".

I would have bought a JC figure if it was reasonably priced, but we only have this "Adam Jensen" wierdo.

Meh.

He doesn't really design toys as much as gaudy barely movable sculptures.

They also just released a bunch of new screenshots. They're not really worth a whole new topic so I'll just post the link here.

I thought it would be interesting to look up some previews of Deus Ex from relatively mainstream sites in 1999/2000, to compare with the recent previews of DX:HR. Discovering that 99% of the sites linked on Blue's News were now defunct was quite disheartening. Here's Eurogamer's, and Gamespot's, and some of Gamespot's and IGN's preview screenshots. Note how the screenshots clearly depict the game's UI, inventory system, dialogues etc.

JC's a chain smoker! :retarded:

That looks like the first area outside of liberty island. Probably all he had in his inventory

What's with the aliasing in the DXHR shots? Is that what games look on consoles?

I'm pretty sure it's due to jpeg compression

*Edit* oh god...oh god, it looks horrid. Nevermind, ffs, doesn't the 360 support at least 2xmsaa?

The consoles never had antialiasing - they don't need it because TV screens are blurry. So yeah, those are most likely console shots.

I suppose. The last console conversion I saw on both computer and consoles was GTA4, and that one didn't have AA on either.

FOV is horrible compared even to default 75 in DX1. And with obviously consolish engine roots I'd bet there will be no easy way to change it unlike the first game. Also, this greybrown shit looks ugly even by multiplatform standards.

With Ernest Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises well underway, is it a wonder that the readers can expect action figures to be out soon?

Those screenshots look pretty suss to be honest, wouldn't be surprised if they were mock ups and not from in game.

Interview with Jonathan Jacques Belletete, the art director of Deus Ex:HR, if anyone hasn't seen it yet.
