Well, be that as it may, Timothy owns MCA any day of the week. Arcanum might be flawed, but it is still better than all of Obsidian's games combined.

Wasn't he supposed to do this in January? I guess the Let's Play can't be rushed like every other Obsidian release, but at least without Drog's patch it will be buggy.

And maybe he can aim a webcam at his feet or something :troll:

If he says one thing about the combat being bad in Arcanum with the combat in Planescape, Alpha Protocol and basically all his games being the way they are (i.e. irredeemably terrible) he needs immediate revocation of his Codex god status.

Then again, tons of faggots on the Codex whine about combat in Arcanum while seeming to give the pile of shit that was Planescape's endless boring trash mobs a free pass.

Uhhhhh, Arcanum combat was easily worse than Torment combat.

It seems that he is playing GOG.com version, so I don't think he will encounter any bugs at all.

Why, does the GOG version come with Drogg-kun's patch?

Well, drog did make many changes beyond bug fixing in his patch :

CHANGELOG

NOTE: A great deal of typos and various mistakes have been corrected, and many dialogs have been proofread. Numerous wrong and missing descriptions have been fixed as well.

LEGEND:

[F] - Fixed bug.
[R] - Restored content/feature. Something that was omitted/forgotten/disabled/censored is restored.
- Improved content/feature. Something was improved objectively.
[C] - Changed content/feature. Something was changed subjectively to make the game more coherent.
[A] - Added content/feature. Something was added to make the game more coherent.

But I believe that you can choose to install only bug fixes, isn't that right ?

They both have shit combat, but PST is RTwP which is pretty much expected to be shit. With Arcanum they managed to fuck up TB combat which is a much greater crime.

There's nothing wrong with Arcanum's TB system itself - it's the same basic AP shizzle from the Fallouts. There are far greater crimes like terminally imbalanced magic/weapons/skills and parallel inclusion of real-time that make Arcanum combat full of suck. With a proper balance mod shifting variables like weapon speed and magic damage Arcanum combat could have actually been decent.

AP cost for movement is way different from Fallout and you can't see the grid.

How does that make the actual combat any different

It trivializes any particular positioning or movement choice; it doesn't matter where you are because you will always have enough AP to get where you want to go. This fairly significantly affects the use of ranged weapons. It also causes ganging up on a single target in melee to be more viable. The invisible grid makes precise movement and range calculation more difficult, although its not as much of a problem because the low-AP cost of movement makes that irrelevant.
