Congrats, grotty! You know I was rooting for you, but I honestly didn't think you'd pull it off. Undead Phoenix pulled off an amazing season with a rookie Chaos team. If he chooses to continue with it next round, it'll be the team to beat.

And I have decided, that I am not playing goblins again next round!

Cheers, dude! I completely agree; I haven't been the, uh...'the most consistently good player' would be the nice way of putting it. Never mind - I'm sure balance will be restored in the semis with a good old-fashioned Skink-smashing arse-whooping.

Knowing my luck, I'll probably end up against Shuma...

We just finished our match and it was a blast. Rapeplay right here.

Overall it was a lot more even and intense than I expected despite my bad luck with the running game.

Replay no worky

Edit: nevermind! It was 404'd earlier for some reason.

The day has been moved on and we are onto the last four two games. I would now like to take the opportunity to apologise to Grotsnik:

I guess that the suspense about who won is gone, now that the results are out. I just want to thank everybody for the fun times and wish the remaining teams good luck for their next games. I'm still sorta surprised and proud that my rookie team of former porn stars made it to the quarter finals although it's hard to miss that Lady Fortuna was often quiet fond of the girls. Would definitely play another league in the near future but as for now it's

A very close game, you were within one square of potentially winning! Great job playing Dwarves tight in what is close to the most lopsided matchup in the game.

A really close match that could've gone both ways. Very entertaining to watch too.

UP, kudos for bravely standing up to dwarfs with Your amazons. You were one good roll away from winning this, I think. If You managed to push the dwarven runner (I think it was the runner) into the touchdown line, I don't think Exmit would have enough time left to equalize.

Exmit, congratulations for reaching the semi-finals. I never really appreciated dwarven teams until seeing Yours in action. Your AG4 rape machine is a blast to watch in action.

As we are winding down this league and we will soon have a new champ I am looking forward and deciding whether there should be a third season and if so what shape it should take. The group format along timezones seems to have worked well but I didn't like how the different skill tiers were all mixed up together which is why I was thinking of having a league system similar to football (the real kind) in that we have the A Division and the BDivision, where teams in the A league compete for the title of the league and the b side is looking for promotion to the a league. Everyone will still be in the one league but there will be two divisions.

Having it that way you can have people of a certain skill level play others of similar level and those that want to start a new team can do so without getting stomped. It will also allow for more fun for those who have no chance of getting the title - there would be a lot of interest of who gets relegated and who gets promoted. Maybe even a ceremonial booting of the last person in division B.

Let me know what your thoughts are. If there is interest I will start a new thread.

Also can I thank everyone for their commitment and good humour this season. This has been a lot of fun and it has made my life easier.

This league has been certifiably awesome! What has most surprised me has been people's dedication to getting matches played and making the league function. It was flawless, almost.

So I say: "Yay!" to a new league. As for the league's structure, I don't think I really care, either way. I just wanna play some Blood Bowl ;)

So A and B-league, or whatever you want, is fine with me. As long as teams carry over :D

I'm all for starting another league, as I would like to take part. As for divisions, I have mixed feelings. Objectively, it seems to be a good idea, but when I consider my suckage in this game, divisions would cause me never to face the best players.

Also consider that based on results, Yarde would probably go to Division B, which would prevent his teams from hurting the top ones. In the end, we will probably end up with the Division A containing all the top scoring teams like Elves, Skaven and such, while the bashy ones will get stuck in Division B. It would dilute the whole experience and force players wanting to face the champs into choosing certain kind of teams - which would mean less variety overall.

Blood Bowl is as much a skill-based game, as a luck-based. It's much more fun if my Elves (for example) have the possibility of facing Chaos, Dwarves and Khemri in the same group.

Yup, this has been an awesome league, and it's run much smoother than it should ever have done with so many people. Well done everyone, + extra kudos to Mantiis. :salute:

Didn't your Ogre team have an all-but-one-unbeaten MP record for some time?

The division decision is a tough one, though - because dispiriting as it may be to get trampled by OSK's marauding OP goblins if you're a new player, it's probably equally annoying to be told that you're going to be stuck in a lower league and your impossible aim is to struggle all the way up into a higher one to fight the 'established' players who get to be there by default. So many of the best players in this league have been new and self-effacing about their abilities, after all.

I played my match with shuma yesterday.

I'm not sure how, but I ended up winning, and I want to check my team for level ups, so anybody can ask Shuma if it's ok, and then validate the match?

Here's the replay:

This was a good game - pretty tense. The only question mark I had was with Shuma choosing push instead of defender stumbles on turn 15 vs the ball carrier who does not have dodge? Mis-click?

i had a similar question on turn 16... mis-click to pick both down instead of push while trying to set up the one-turn score, or was it actually a two dice against that i just didnt see?

Yeah, due to a lot of luck and easy opponents. But no more.

desocupado: Congratulations! I should have bet money on You at the beginning. Can't watch the replay right now, being cut off from my Blood Bowl PC, but will do it as soon as I get back home, on Friday.
