It was a stupid joke, because it was too easy and similiar ones have been done since the first WII-U numbers came out.
It sucked for real regardless of pc.
Additionally they thought themselves so funny that they repeated the joke three times in a row for no reason.

Yeah but the issue with Gone Home isn't even the lack of gameplay. What is supposed to be its strongest point -the story- is laughable at best.

'Reality' shit is always fucking awful. That guy was clearly trying to set up some blown-out drama between the girls and boys (the no-girls team would have "hopefully" said "yeah, they have an advantage pretty GURLZ GET ERYTHING" or "No, womyn can't video game") which 'reality' show fans would slurp up. Editing would have made it look vicious and highly "entertaining". The guy was right, it would have boosted viewers and hits and the $$$ would flow. They could probably ride it even more by coming out with all their issues and disgust a few weeks later. I just don't know how they could make it through the Dew sponsored reality inanity and only over this one issue suddenly grow some integrity.

SJW posts were boring and repetitive. Generic corporate promotions and dudebro culture, on the other hand, are totally original topics that have never, ever been covered in BTEs.
There is a separate aptly named thread for all your SJW gaming needs. (Also the posts themselves weren't really the problem, the stupid, inevitable and formulaic shitfest that followed every time was)
