The romances are also pretty vanilla (you don't even touch), there's nothing to work yourself up over, at least the ones you can continue in BG2, don't know about the ones exclusive to SoD.

You know "Beamdog" is complete garbage when I'd rather go through the trouble of installing BG 1 and 2 with Tutu than have my day ruined with their disgusting "Enhanced edition" the amount of cancer these people added to the game is astounding and SoD was just a non-stop bombardment of trash I couldn't even play through it for a laugh and I'm a person who beat ME:A.

So, you were conceived as a direct result of your mother having a matress strapped to her back. Keep it to yourself next time, pls.

I'm gonna have to disagree with that one. ME2 although bad is still one thousand times better than the "content" Beamdog added to BG and SoD...

Seeing the things they made the characters I remember from old games say and do was more disturbing and poorly written than the Imoen rape mod or a self insert mary sue party member mod.

Not really, it's basically the same quality, with Dorn being better than the other 2 losers. Most of SoD's companions are one-dimensional and that's more offensive than all the gays and trannies they can put in there, their claim that they've "fixed" "problematic" characters isn't even true, Safana is the same she has ever been and they put in a lesbian vampire in, the most exploited trope of gothic fiction. The first ever vampiress in literature was hinted at to be a lesbian. The type of backlash against Beamdog for their included content is frankly disgusting. I'm not defending them, quite the contrary, I think they suck at writing, but SoD doesn't deserve the 1/10 reviews (it's at most a 6/10) and it's ALL based on ideological deformation of the facts, the very thing SJWs are also doing and being hated for it (and I agree with). Saying ME2's writing is somehow better is extreme bias and intellectual dishonesty, both are horrific examples of fan fiction tier wankery, with one-dimensional characters mixed in with fanservice. Leaving writing aside SoD is a much better game than ME2, with much better encounter design, itemization, some token reactivity and sometimes more than 1 possible solution to a quest.

While might only look at added content I look at whole EE as a package. All the improvements EE added (not only new NPCs and quests) and the game that resulted out of it is easily better than anything Bioware did after DAO. While some of those game could have been positively compared to unmodded BG1, BG1EE is miles better game.

So some modern BioWare games were comparable to BG until Beamdog came along and twiddled with it. lol @ this scrub.

Bg1 vanilla is not that great. Lacks BG2 stuff. It is still a good game but not as good as it is now.

Infinity Engine was coded as the BG campaign was being formed; it laid the groundwork. BG is more of a feat than BG2, which recycled many of the assets and merely built upon others to bloat things out.

It's arguable BG is the superior campaign. No need to repeat what I and others have said in previous posts. It depends what sort of campaign you value. Also BG2 lacks BG stuff, though I doubt you can cite any examples.

It's not so cut and dry, except to you and other hamheads.

I don't have high hopes for the rpg they are making, but I think we can feel safe it will be an actual rpg which is nice. If it is 5e it will be nicer. If they somehow manage to make decent, engaging combat that manages to stay challenging throughout I will be very surprised. I'm guessing it will be like all the IE gams besides IWD2 - decent content but very shitty and boring combat with no challenge at all in the default design. Definitely recruitable party members as talking heads and porno toys for the same market of dumb kids who like shit combat.

It will be worth buying, for 5e alone if they use it just for the chargen and dev. We could also hope modders fix the shit combat and make it something worth playing.

And at the end of the day we all have a new rpg to play. I'll take a new rpg over no rpg any day. And who knows, they could prove me wrong. I know inXile has.

I played SoD on Insane and the AI did some cool tricks (along with assaulting you shameful amounts of enemies, which was cheap), but nothing SCS didn't offer. I suggest hiring the person who made SCS.

I find BG1EE more fun than BG2 or BG2EE but Bg1 was technically way too weaker than BG2 engine to be overall superior even if it had more fun exploration and even if I find low level D&D more fun to play. Bg1 just lacks BG1EE extra classes and tools to play around with. Tools 90% implemented with BG2.

Even if SoD was not the level of BG1 or BG2, they did show a certain level of competency in crafting encounters, quest design and enemy AI. And that part can only improve. They got rid of their worse writers and learned their lessons about their player base.
I think whatever they are cooking up next can only be better than SoD and can turn out to be a cool and playable game.

I agree it will be a game with good content but seeing as you believe the combat in the IE games is good and posses some sort of challenge I will have to disagree on it being playable. I feel it will be good until the combat gets too repetitive and boring which will happen quickly like it does in all the IE games. Worth buying and checking out, but any game with shit combat is a shitty game and not cool. If the default combat mode posses a challenge throughout the game and requires me to think and actually try I will eat my words, but I honestly don't think I'll have to.

Anyways, this is a game I know I will be buying unless some crazy shit comes out like they are removing stats or not having any character generation or something just as offensive to fans of rpgs.
