Can my pilot be a straight white male or is that not allowed by HBS?

pronouns for degenerates or fat ugly arabs wont make or break a game but they are certainly a turnoff.

i d much prefer if games like Battletech , XCOM & co. didnt gave my shipcrew/scientists/mechanics names/faces/stories and especially SJW approved ones at that

sorry but even in a game about giant mechs or alien invasions i want at least some believability / realism...... having a black scientist or female mechanics or female arabs with an identity other than breeding suicide bombers makes those games go from at least somewhat believable future into full retard territory.

At that recent Seattle meetup a few more details were revealed, will spoiler the bit about campaign length.

- Campaign missions are set to trigger based on a number of random contracts completed since the last completed mission.
  • Campaign missions do not expire.
  • You can not help the bad guys.
- The AI between Beta and Release has been vastly improved. Tyler said it was the difference between a bicycle and a jet fighter. He said that it was a combination of more variables that are accessible to tweak and they just got better at tweaking it. He shared anecdotes about having to tune back the aggressiveness for an escort as it would expertly ride the heat line to the max and wreak absolute havoc.

Streamers have agreed to stop at a certain mission, roughly 1/3 of the way through the storyline. Total playing time will obviously depend on the number of non-story contracts one takes between story missions, and can continue indefinitely once the storyline is concluded.

That seemed to be possible earlier in development and there were a number of people planning to do just that, but since Mitch announced that the treatment of the story had been changed it seems to be no longer possible - at least from all we've heard recently. I saw his comments about a new 'lose' condition a while back, and how one could keep redoing the story missions if one failed.

Also the intro to the game now seems to look back on the restoration being successful

I guess one could just ignore the story and head off to do procedural stuff from the start.

Bit disappointing, this evolution of the campaign, hopefully either HBS or modders will provide more options in time.

So far, it seems this is a "Battle Brothers" situation. :despair:

At least they haven't denied the capacity to mod the game... Yet.

Hm, well at least one could not get exhausted with the early access.
Oh how little I had played BB after release, didn't even played the Lindwurm DLC.
But, after a year between now and than I can say, they are on the right track and promising indie dev's.

So does Space Hijab lady mean that the Abrahamic religions (judism, chrisitanity, islam) survive in the 31st century? I always assumed from the novels and lore that they disappeared a long time to be replaced by new space religions/ideologies. Or maybe it is just a cultural fashion thing like House Kurita having Kimono's and Katanas.

Look at this poor bastard...
Meanwhile Jordan Weisman thinks that battlemechs in his franchise are 30 meters tall while Atlas, the highest, is around 17 meters.

Also meanwhile a moron wants to give himself a heart attack when the game ships

Now that is someone properly triggered.

There is a difference between degenerating game design as a very valid argument vs omg she arab / there is a tranny pronoun option (which is cosmetic stuff)

Who said she is moslem anyway? Wearing a rag over head might be the only thing remaining of arab traditions by that time. Havent seen in the streams anyone talking to her on the ship, if she has no dialogue about killing infidels - who are you to asume her faith shitlord!
I didn't see any Tranny pronoun options. But there was a neutral pronoun option to nice fit my gender of Mech.
By allah. None of you are paying attention to my opression! It's so hard being a rich man trapped in a poor man's body and all you can so is moan about transsexuals. I AM MORE OPRESSED THAN THEM. NOW GO AND DONATE TO MY PATREON!

You could get rid of the mike & ikes and jujubes by using a mix of cinnamon, citrus and a dash of xanthum gum, reduce the sugar by an order of magnitude and partially caramalize it on a pan, and then play with infusing ground mint into it, you would have a tea that doesn't give you diabetes just for looking at it.

Well, you still have to pay for internal structure repairs and even more for replacing blown out CT (yeah, mechs with destroyed CT can be repaired :retarded:). But the prices are kinda low, so the things you spend most money on are per-month maintnance(which stays mostly constant) and buying new weapons and mech parts & hiring pilots.

So its like if x-com had yearly income that was never decreased by alien activity, only increased as the time goes by and you could pick the difficulty of missions at will at any time.

According to the fanbois on paradox forums its all fine though, because you can always pick a harder contract if the game is too easy. :retarded: And mods will fix it too.

Damn am I glad that strangely I was never excited about this game, while I loved Mech Commander to bits and really liked Shadowrun Dragonfall and Hong Kong.

nah old religions always survived but often in a changed form. iirc the Davions are Catholic, albeit a New Avalon based branch (I'd assume the split came during the Amaris occupation of Earth, since I don't doubt the Pope and all cardinals were murdered and replaced with puppets the FedSuns clergy would refuse to listen to). Hell, there were even Thuggee cultists floating around at some point. Muslims are meant to be less common bc they weren't as eager as others to fuck off of Earth during the first big round of colonization+exploration, but presumably they're around. new space religions are of course a thing too, most regrettably the Blakists

Agree that the whole pronoun thing is very very silly though. both in general and especially in the context of the setting
Not really. The Vatican got taken over and sent a message to New Avalon to take over for a bit, but the message got garbled and NewAv thought it was for life, so NewAv made a few changes. When the dust settled from the Amaris coup, things were so far out of whack between the two that they decided to call it a day and recognise their differences and common origins. Nothing sinister about the whole thing.

Muslims (called Azami) are mainly in the Draconis Combine in the Al Nair prefecture. They have about 4 regiments of troops and are reputed to be psycho elite and fanatic, worse than the Sword of Light, but would not leave their homeworlds. They do have a few units here and there in the DCMS, I believe (the Genyosha has 1 company of them circa 3028, and they are the best of the 4 in the Genyosha).

There is absolutely no mention of gays, transsexuals or any of the alphabet soup brigade in any Battletech books I have read. Definitely no differing pronouns simply because BTech is an 80s product, and good luck inserting alphabet soupies in there then.

It looks like HBS is hellbent on destroying the incredible amount of hype and hope and goodwill that BTech fans have given them. Too bad. This could have been the next big thing.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
What a drama! Edgelords from the codex not buying game because they don't like completely irrelevant twitter posts of some dev and take an issue with what their fictional mechwarriors like to suck/fuck or pray to!
Stop the presses!!
Man oh man!
How can we live in such a world?
How is it possible to post in your twitter account "boys not allowed"??? UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!
