What's a reasonable time to end the first catastrophe. Iw ant to play ironman and max difficulty but i fear its pointless without a day limit to just solve the game through grinding. So i want to put a day as the limit for "failure". Which on is reasonable? Just by chance any mod that dos this?

Write a number on a 3x5 card and tape it somewhere on your monitor. If the day # in game exceeds that number, you lose.

Based on what I read it seems 200 days is reasonable goal. Any other opinion?

Damn, i want to play it again. Skipped wurm patch, so now it's ~1 year from my last game. It will last me to Disgaea 5 and PoE 2.

But that means i must think of new company name...:negative:

The first crisis doesn't always start at the same day - somewhere between day 60 to day 90, IIRC.

Why don't you give yourself 50 days from the start of it?

Playing B&B after playing M&B Warbands made me cry.

Me too man, me too.
Also...
Playing B&B after playing Starsector make me cry.
Who I am kidding:
I do not play B&B anymore. But still play SS and M&B a lot. Can you guess why? Anyway no reason to cry.

Its OK. Whatever you like.
If you have luck crisis will end before this date anyway even if you do not interfere. At the low cost of few burned settlements probably(that is why perma destruction is important as if you are unlucky and unskilled and suffer long enough to face multiple crisis you can theoretically face situation where whole map is ruin and despair - nobody played to this point anyway not even me).
The end game is beating not a crisis but a few locations like Black Obelisk, Underground Goblin City and Orc Big Camp. I think there should be also some of Bandit end location but they are not that strong anyway.
So try to find and beat that locations under 200 and its gonna probably be a road to sufferng and pain especially on expert/expert and with ironman(that is really poorly implemd).
Good luck anyway.
Have fun in my place.

Wait, people don't play ironman?

This whole time I thought that this was supposed to be one of those "roguelikes" the grandbabies play.

Wait, people don't play ironman?

Used to but switched back.

Problem with Ironman is that if you don't want to die or go bankrupt, you have to be very conservative about the contracts you take, and that makes the midgame grind even more repetitive.

Ironman early game is tons of fun though.

There is also issue with saving delay and anyway you can still abuse autosave if you know how. Its much better to play self issued ironman on normal save as it play the same with zero bonus annoyance.

This is problem with whole game design aka grind, low reward/high risk ratio, stat inflation(or whatever you call this),lack of high level replacements and other stuff.
Ergo Eternal Kraut syndrome - talk about things but do opposite.

It is but Ironman makes it worse. Beating a hard three-skull battle can be fun but you won’t even attempt it on Ironman.

I just bought this last weekend, what am I in for?
A lot of really great tactical combat, then after a number of hours you will start to realize that the others part of the game outside combat are not of the same quality. But until that moment it's fantastic. And even then overall not a bad game at all just not one of timeless classics that you will be going back to regularly. Or at least not likely.

There is a savegame editor out now on the steam forums that let you edit the characters appearance. Look at my badass crew (the northern crusade :D)

Frustration followed by a period of tremendously tense and exciting gameplay, followed by disappointment as it degenerates into a grind and you realise that outside the really well-executed TB tactical combat there's not a whole lot of there, there.

I got about a hundred hours worth of tremendously tense and exciting so I ain't complaining.
