I dunno, I thought the switch to open world made the game a lot more boring. Could have just not been in the mood to play it I guess. Not really worth debating for me though, neither game made me feel passionately either way.
Yes, Rocksteady are developing this.Who is making this new Arkham? Origins was subcontracted out to some fairly untalented folks. Is the franchise back in the hands of the guys who made AA and AC so damn great?
Arkham series (excluding Origins) is probably one of the better AAA offerings in recent years... and yet DF hates it. You got some fucked up taste, bro.
And that is the entire point of the game - the challenge is not to win, the challenge is to look fucking BOSS doing it, taking down a dozen mooks with varying types of blades, stun guns, shields and guns without breaking a sweat using a combination of kung fu and bat-gadgets. It is still entertaining as hell. There is a reason why AA's combat model's been copied by half the action-RPGs released in the past half decade.Yah that video is in the tutorial area of AC. That said, it's not inherently a difficult game unless you try to go for score multipliers. Makes sense though, Batman is supposed to turn regular street thugs into pulp with his pinky.

It would work much better if the game was linear, segmented in levels and more arcadish. 'Score-based' gameplay doesn't fit well with an open world. And that is the entire point of the game - the challenge is not to win, the challenge is to look fucking BOSS doing it, taking down a dozen mooks with varying types of blades, stun guns, shields and guns without breaking a sweat using a combination of kung fu and bat-gadgets.
