Booted BG3 just to see the current state of the game
EA build hardly reflects that. No one cares about the EA build except for marketing department and a few nerds I guess. From what I've read here and there the game is playable till the very end and they're vigorously testing it, volunteers included.

Personally I hope they'll come to their senses and will bring the proper *dark* Underdark look along with the old colours, more or less. Also, I'm still waiting for the promised "dirt system" (for armour and such).
Are u guys using direct x 11 or vulkan?
Vulkan runs fine for me (gf 970).

It’s hard to wrap my head around a company ditching its own fantasy gods of all flavors and mechanics, but I guess it tracks with the current insanity.

I didn't even know this. Kind of weird in regards to a Baldur's Gate game. I wonder how they will rewrite the plots of the first two games to cover this.

No more of Helm's strapping buttocks. sad.

Strap Yourselves In Pathfinder: Wrath
So far, my favorite battles have been in the wrecked homes or ruins, where there are plenty of opportunities to use chokepoints, sneak, jump, or shove enemies off the building.

Least favorite was the Hag fight, and I cheesed it with an invisibility scroll and shove. It felt like a slog and I just wanted it over.

How much has been datamined from the game's files about the story?
As far as I know, basically nothing except few minor tidbits about later parts of Act 1 that are still missing in EA. Some of which may even be situational (i.e. it's something that can happen but it's not a given it will, like a certain character betraying you).

I'm not aware of any advanced plot point being leaked, on the other hand.

Finally played the early access somewhat 13 hours.. it's ... good.

Quite hyped for august release, and yea, it looks and feels like D:OS 3, but in a much much better packaging, better story, C&C and overall just mehcanics and implementation of D&D 5.

I had alot of fun with the EA.

scytheavatar, did WotC explain why they removed deities from paladins? To differentiate further from clerics?

Edit: Never mind, apparently clerics follow domains. Strange that WotC put so much lore into gods just to drop it as a mechanic.
Remember that D&D is a generic system while god lore is setting specific. Most clerics follow a god and get powers based on that god's domain. But the system also works in settings that don't have a classical style pantheon.

You're on the codex, it's forbidden to say anything positive about B3

i have always said larian would be a great rpg developer if they stopped sticking to their retarded diablo style loot and level scaling. D&D ruleset really do them a good service. i am in the camp of "hyped" since the start

Indeed, D:OS 1+2 was marred by different problems most of all:
- Overly "gamey" combat and gimmicky elemental environment shit, and the fucking armour mechanic was dogshit
- Shitty story, shitty worldbuilding
- Shitty itemization and UI was shit also

BG3 seems to retrify many of these problems, and good riddance.

especially considering it's pretty hard to find positives

You know, guys, I'm still pretty miffed that Starfield's been delayed so long, but on the bright side, it's now perfectly placed to steal Swen's BG "3" thunder at those ridiculous game awards. After experiencing the intense suicidial tendencies that Larian's toilet chain inflicts upon sentient beings, even a non-modded Bethesda UI will be like a Michelin-starred feast is to a starving man. The Belgian will get to sit and watch Todd keep running back and forth to collect his trophies.

still waiting for more characters. you need at least 2-3 party members of each archetype. right now it's complete shit. there is no one able to disarm traps and open locks.

Reinhardt, aren't you able to create your own party members or did they cancel that too? Like how they removed 6 chsracter parties. Yeah they didnt 'remove' it since the DOS has always had 4 characters. Lol

I hope there will be enough characters to have a varied party (especially for the purpose of replays or doing multiple playthroughs) but I would honestly be very surprised if we get more than one companion per class.

You have a choice of 2 characters that can do this (actually one if you don't count Astarion as a character).

It has been said many times that this option will not be in EA, but it is supposed to appear with the full game along with multiclassing and rolling for stats.
Will it really be like that? Unfortunately, only Swen knows.

I remember from some interview that both Minsc and Jaheira are supposed to be companions at some point in the game.
This means more companions should appear throughout the game.
If nothing has been removed then Karlach will also join the party in full game.
So at the moment we have a total of 8 companions who will almost certainly appear.

Hope they have this secret build with all fucking supplemental material and a squad of ultra grognards that would make everyone here in Codex blush testing that shit. Because I'm not happy or collecting upboats when I write a post that I feel that the suppose to be fucking marketing material is a dogshit with no sustenance. I'm not expecting a complete build but at least have your first chapter with transparency so I know what direction this game is going for.

It kinda follow movies rule, if your trailer is dogshit how you expect the entire movie to be good? If your game intro is shit how you expect the rest to be good? I'm not playing an MMO to get the meme after X hours it turns into gold.

My real competition this year is Zelda.

Starfield will obviously outsell BG3 by an extremely large margin and Todd will scoop up all of the game awards, but don't worry Swen, there is no way that BG3 could not win "best video game porno" at the AVN Awards.
