You sound like someone who's had his expectations of his fellow man completely crushed. What the fuck kind of question is this?
Do you mean video games in general? Or the really nerdy ones?
I mean it's totally acceptable to binge play Skyrim while your girl is sucking you off. She's totally not gonna judge you, because Skyrim is fucking awesome.
But replace Skyrim with KotC or AoD and that's when people start looking funny at you. You become worse than a hipster.
If anything, I become more and more obsessed with RPGs as I grow older. Maybe one day I'll reach critical mass and become RPG.

Mid-twenties. RPG's are for nerds who never get laid, you know.
I've played Fallout 1, 2 and NV + Planescape
It's all downhill from those games, isn't it?
I felt exactly like that at a similar age too. I felt like the good days of RPG's had gone because all the classic 90s tactical party based RPG's were in the past and everything being made was a dumb single player actiony type game. Elder Scrolls, Gothic, Two Worlds etc.. I still played them to check them out but always felt disappointed. Occasionally I would get a real RPG, but it was 1 game a year, maybe less. But here I am more than 10 years later and I am still playing stuff. I replay old games a lot, and occasionally there are new ones that are reawaken my love for rpg. They are rare, but occasionally something great comes along like Blackguards, Divinity Original Sin, etc. Which gives hope for the future because they bring new ideas. I mostly play other types of games, but that makes RPGs all the more special, because I really enjoy playing about 1 a year.I already almost gave up, being 23 y/o. Before I played Tyranny some time ago I finished The Age of Decadence. One cRPG a year is not much. Besides, having played P:T and other classics I don't feel there's much more to be done here than that.
I haven't even played F3, F4, DA2 or DA:I.
