Finally BIS stopped fucking around and the setting is World War 3.
The promised campaign sounds like BIS is finally going back to the roots too.

It also will have naval warfare and PhysX.

Still fuck them for ArmA3.
Which means:
- waiting for the same mods all over again
- little content compared to what OFP/AA1/AA2 have already
- upgrading PC

The PR campaign was nice as it had community break their brains making guesses about the setting and stuff
The chronology of ARG is here:

More on E3 I guess.

Apart from more detailed character models, it looks pretty similar to ArmAII. Then again, I never pay that much attention to the game's appearance. There are more important things to be doing when playing ArmA.

Still...new maps is good, and naval warfare sounds interesting. It will, at least, give more mission types to make.

At the moment I'm more interested in that WWII game, to be honest.

fuck modern warfare , seriously, it's the 1000000000000th game. We need to go back to WW2 which is more fun.

Yeah "why the fuck did they call it ArmA3" was my first impression.

Then again BIS sucks at making screenshots

PhysX and the simulation based around it including that of vehicles and choppers really got me excited. And then it will have naval stuff.

Plus there's a possibility that it will have weapon customization (as in not just selection but the ability to add silencers/optics) either pre-mission or on-the-fly.

US Army Rangers rock too.

Finally you can and will shoot jews in it.

@Exmit:
Yeah wake me up when XBox360 will be able to draw a 20km view distance with objects when it can barely run JC2 at 30 FPS with its literally triangle empty mountains 4 kms away.

The piss filter really ruins the screenshot - I fucking hate it. It's good that you can turn it off.

Oh it will be a bugfest alright. Which is to be expected with it being BIS and a huge scale game.

I don't understand where's the milking though.

ArmA1 content like islands with all objects on them was ported to ArmA2 within few months for free. You didn't even have to own ArmA1.
All AA1 user mods are compatible with AA2 through a minor tweaking.

They also dropped support for ArmA1 only a month ago, providing patches, new content and features for it for 5 years.

Don't suppose BIS will try to fuck customers now.

How is BIS not fucking its customers? I mean you say they "supported" ArmA 1 for 5 years, but the truth is that evne after 5 years of patching, ArmA 1 still plays like an eastern european pre-alpha piece of shit.

Likewise, ArmA 2 after 5 years of patching is still going to be an unplayable turd.

Undoubtedly it's going to be the same with ArmA 3.

Talk about fucking your customers. BIS has been fucking them for so long they no longer notice the big, red, throbbing dick that's being jammed up their asshole with every release and patch.

Can't wait. If they really reworked the animations and vehicles will be affected by physics this time (i.e. no civilian cars standing in place and exploding after a minute after being shot by a tank) then that's great.

Well it looks gorgeous but why does the main campaign has to be about some special forces team sent on a covert mission? I want my full scale warfare as in the original OFP.

The feature that I'm totally hyped about is actually the PhysX stuff and the revamped animation system. One of the weakest points of the originals were physics and the animations which were very stiff and looked lame.

Also do I see ragdoll physics here? I guess I do. It will be fucking awesome to play in the editor and blow hundreds of soldiers with C4 if there are ragdoll physics involved :D

because large scale battles would kill every pc with those requirements, instead you get 4 man operation at night.

BIS are shitty coders, they cannot make an optimised engine without bugs for shit, after 10 years everyone should know it already.

100 years from now and they still would be releasing bugged clunky shit, if they didn't learn it by now they will never learn it.

Haha oh wow! So Arma has gone full derp. RAH-66? Mi-28 with coxial rotors? Kwan soldiers holding FN2000s? Kwans with Jewish tanks? That's some sci-fi shit right there. :retarded:

Enjoy your dumbed down expansion sequel Skyway.

EDIT: Ahh, and you gotta love those inverted Amerikwan flags. The attention to detail is simply staggering! Go BIS!

Arma is now just as authentic as the last COD game with 60's Soviets carrying PSG-1's and Steyrs.

Skyfag will lap it up of course: Call of Arma 3:Black Ops.

If you play games for 3 years that is.
BIS was doing modern warfare games before it became the popular thing.

I take it there will be. I just hope it won't go AA2 way again with its retarded 'warfare' missions.

OA and BAF which contain 'one of many' types of missions sold the best.

There will be ragdolls.

Can't wait till people will cry about how it is even more unoptimized piece of crap.

Also if the island is anything like the original it's based upon (Lemnos) - the land area in the game will be 477 sq. km which is more than twice as big as Chernarus and bigger than Sahrani.

Aerial vehicles may become viable once again.

The herp-derp-sci-fi stuff is the most whined about topic on BI forums right now. I whine there too.

Jew tanks are probably there because IDF is there - there's no info on sides apart from there not being US technically, there is NATO. Mi-28-Ka-50 hybrid is a lame way of BIS to depict the possible upgrades of conflict of ~2020.

The lack of M4s and SCARs is disappointing though.

[slight derail]

Skyway, do you know of any good games in your book based on WWI?

[/slight derail]

What's with the filter?
I don't think I've ever seen a light like that in real life, what is that based on?

Well I wrote on BI forums that the filter looks like crap - devs obviously didn't answer but people agreed.

I guess there will be more screenshots without it. Next PC Gamer issue supposedly will contain a preview so maybe they will get a few normal ones

No.
Doesn't mean that they are all bad ones, it's just that WW1 doesn't interest me and I don't know any
