It all depends on how much grind you can take... story & dialog are retarded, but the combat & systems are solid. Sadly, it's padded to hell and back with filler battles and extreeeeeeemely long campaign. Seriously, like 80-100 hrs.

I feel like this kind of game would have been a godsend for me back when I was in school and got like one or two games a year; something I could dump a ton of hours into without simply retracing my steps. These days though, not only can I afford to buy my own games, even kids can get dozens of decent games between bundles, steam sales and ye open seas. Game was made in the wrong era.

It's also got pretty stiff competition. Other games do the 80+ hour shittons of bonus content thing as well, and a lot of them do it with a lot more style and polish *cough* Disgaea *cough*

I just picked this up on PS3 because all three Agarest games were on sale for $15 total.

I'm already regretting it. I'm only about three hours in and I'm already bored to tears by the combat. I can't believe some folks here on the Codex were defending this abysmal game.

Why does a crap SRPG like this get two sequels while a flawed masterpiece like Operation: Darkness get none? :x
