Abduction driven story in rpgs?

Dragon wars starts with whole party abducted, and you will get abducted at least once more.

Crono Trigger has you imprisoned twice - once early on with just Crono in Present Day Guardia

Best prison escape scene I seen. Also choice and consequence. Either you escape, or you wait until... Was it your execution? Of course if you didn't level up properly next stage is hellish.

Heh, reminds me of Monkey Island 1: getting caught by the cannibals. They put you in a hut and barricade the door. You can escape through the floor, and if you meet them again they just put you there again and upgrade the door lock. It goes for several iterations if you want, quite funny. But in a "serious" RPG... sounds silly.

No one mentioned the recent RPG "Expedition Vikings"? Is the game not so famous?
In the story, after you convinced the bishop to support the exiled king and return to Eoforwic,
your main character would be arrested (or abducted) by the gaurds of current king, and he/she waited in dungeon until fellow companions come to free him/her.

In wizards & warriors your party not only gets captured but also turned into smelly, fat ogres, and you get to choose how to proceed: to blend into hierarchy of the same stinky bastards as yourselves, or just break out of that hellhole.
