A single/multiplayer rpg experience taking place in a smallish area the size of one town with surroundings. Different win conditions apply depending on server settings, all with multiple solutions. Also possible to play without any win conditions.
Players will get levels at the start depending on server settings, for a singleplayer run you could start at level 1 (or 20 if you want), for a multiplayer game you could start at level 20 if you are alone or level 5 if you are playing in a group of 4. (not sure about this yet since people will just circumvent it anyway, but this is how the idea got rolling in the first place so i include it)
The setting I am thinking of is fantasy, but a game like this could be made in a lot of settings, Like a South-American town with cartels, guerillas and the army on the outskirts.
The town and its surroundings are at the start of the game in a delicate balance which the player(s) can disrupt. The dragon for example has a deal with the town for daily livestock, you can convince the Lord of the town to annul the agreement or otherwise sabotage the deal prompting dragon attacks on the town, convince the dragon that he should demand virgins instead, angering the townspeople and the elves.
Currently I am working on the underground portion of the map, where players would go to level.
Ideally I would want a lot with this game, playable lizards and elves, being able to settle down as a farmer or blacksmith, fully destructable environment, developed first and foremost for vr (fuck balance) and very purdy grafx.
This whole game is still a very vague idea in my head though.
Any thoughts?
