[ Game -> Review ]

Bruce Geryk (of ComputerGamingWorld's Tom vs Bruce series) spent the past month playing Galactic Civilizations 2 to write the official 1UP review. Not surprisingly, he gave it a 9.0, despite the lack of a multiplayer component:

In the end, it's a minor point, because the core gameplay is so well done and the mechanics are so clean. Thanks to the great A.I., there's no question of the game's longevity. Because the game doesn't have copy protection or perform a CD check, you can easily install it to your laptop and home computer without violating a license. That's just the physical component of the game's ease of use and accessibility. The gameplay component of those qualities makes this the best space strategy game in over a decade.

This game rocks so much. Yesterday I played it for 4 hours straight and loved every moment of it (Only stopped when my laptop ran outta juice).

For the most part it seems every major site is loving the game, and it's been selling rather well. Hopefully, we'll get to see more of it's ilk being made because of the success. Anyone know the hard sales numbers (both in stores and online)?
