  1. Can I get my posts back?

    So DU can insult and ban some members randomly just for teh lulz, and all you do is ask him nicely to stop doing that with you personally? Fuck, this calls for revolution, not for politeness.
  2. Review Arcania: Gothic 4 – Theatre of the Absurd

    So Arcania tuned out to be a shit. Whoa, that was completely unexpected :roll: From this review, looks like it's not even the so-bad-it's-actually-good kind of bad. Just the boring-to-death kind of bad. Too bad that newfags will learn to associate the name of Gothic with this piece of crap.
  3. About C++, a question.

    Ha ha ha oh wow. Right. :roll: :lol:
  4. About C++, a question.

    To the OP: you SHOULD know the language before you start any big projects on your own, or start trying to understand the internals of some large game or graphics framework. Otherwise you'll quickly find yourself overwhelmed. In particular that applies to mainstream programming languages...
  5. Let's Play Ultima: From Akalabeth to Ascension! (Now on VII)

    Maybe it's just me, but those giant yellow fonts are really hard to read.
  6. Gothic I, worth it?

    Once you can get in the inner are of the Old Camp - rob the Ore Baron storage chests. The are situated in the highest tower. You'll be set for the rest of the game. (Might want to train Picklock skill to master level first, there are some pretty hard locks on the way)
  7. Let's Play - I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream(Update#1 p.2)

    Good choice. I've watched the LP on Youtube - the game is definitely a Codex material. :thumbsup:
  8. Ultima The Ultima Underworld I & II Thread

    Amazing game. Just compare how good the 3D engine was in contrast to the hailed 3D engines that came afterwards - Wolfenstein and even Doom (which also had only "2.5 D", not full 3D as UU). Another interesting aspect of UU is that the developers apparently were interested in creating not only...
  9. Ideal setting for engaging story-driven cRPG

    At least the Codexers apparently are going to like if it's made in the original Victorian/Edwardian setting. :tophat: :monocole:
  10. Ideal setting for engaging story-driven cRPG

    A slightly related idea - how about Chesterton's The Man Who Was Thursday as basis for a game? In a modern setting (or maybe not?).
  11. Academagia: The Making of Mages

    No: Harry Potter had combat, lol.
  12. Risen 2 announced at Gamescom

    Not if you liked the combat.
  13. Risen 2 announced at Gamescom

    Uh huh. The world was just too large. The game mechanics from other Gothics or Risen are not going to work in such world. Even if the community patches makes it a good game (haven't checked, but doubt it), it's still a different game from those Gothics I personally love.
