    That goes without saying.
  2. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

I just did actually, to see if it could be done. With an old party, so no golem on the bridge (forgot about that thing completely) but I think it should be possible to lure him off the bridge and just run past him. Saved right away at the starting point in Mt. Wilderness to sleep-reset spawned...

Never happened to me, since I've never actually tried grabbing it that early myself tbh. I prefer gradual rise to power. By the time I get my hands on that staff, usually at least half my party wears those sweet amulets of healing from Crock. That's pretty hilarious situation, though, especially...

Drop rate for cane is 70% IIRC. Pretty high, especially compared to other cool toys like Excalibur or Lightsword (got both on first try in my last playthrough, talk about luck) A bit of savescumming and it's yours. You can kill Barlone quite early if you know how. I think it involves elementals...
  5. Poll: Which of the top 20 RPGs have you played?

Played all of them except Dark Souls, BaK and Darklands. Completed the majority. For some odd reason not interested in Dark Souls at all. BaK is on my to-play list but there's a high chance it will stay there forever. I'm not into storyfaggotry these days. Not sure about Darklands. I've played...
  6. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

Well, here you go. I hope I am better than google-translate at least.
  7. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

Interesting. He is saying that only stat's base value affects growth rate of dependent skill. So it appears that, for example, INT bonus on Brilliant Helmet is quite useless.
  8. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

As it so happens I am a proud citizen of Mordor glorious Mother Russia so I understand russian quite well. Problem is I hate math and don't know shit about coding. Looking at all those formulas make me feel like a retarded goblin who's trying to cast spells from Elminster's spellbook. Also, my...
  9. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

Yeah, I guess we'll never know for certain and theories will remain theories. Concerning INT and SP: I just did a quick check with Brilliant Helmet (+INT) and Puck's Cap (-PIE) and indeed you seem to be right, Intelligence doesn't affect spell points whatsoever.
  10. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

Well, DEX, while useless to your typical spellcaster by itself, unlocks reflection and more AC on squishies is never a bad thing in my opinion. It's also controlling attribute for alchemy iirc. But you are right of course, faster skill gains and more spell points (wasn't aware of bonus sp, btw...
  11. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

How useful Power Cast in W8 really is? I know it does increase the duration of party buffs, but other than that? I have a mage and a priest in my party - both are at the same level, both have comparable magic skills, but one has PC at 80+ and the other doesn't even have it unlocked. And the...
  12. KickStarter ATOM RPG - Wasteland Soviet style! - now with Dead City update

Attempts at making our own JA2 OTOH turned out quite alright as far as I'm concerned (SS/E5/7.62). Hope someone will make another such attempt in the near future.
  13. Game News Polygon reports on Might & Magic X Legacy at PAX East, game to be released in September

Boss from Jagged Alliance (released 3 years later) looks kinda similar. They both remind of John Rambo.
  14. Rules of the Codex - Enhanced Edition (2012)

In place of a Dark Underlord, you now have a queen! Not dark, but beautiful and terrible as the dawn! Treacherous as the sea! Stronger than the foundations of the earth! All shall love her, and despair!
  15. Is there anything like A Dance with Rogues for NWN2?

Well, there is Arandie for NWN. Rogue oriented campaign about adventures of elven assassin in big city. Played it looong time ago, can't really remember the details, but there was some whoring and lesbian sex and stuffies, iirc.
