How much demand is there for first person RPGs with turn-based isometric combat?

I can only feel this particular choice only detracts from a game by trying to do two contradictory thing. If one desires immersive exploration that first-person provides the switch into isometric for combat is wildly jarring and going rip you right out of that experience. If you're in it for the...

    True Classic RPG Experience

Plenty of patrician recommendations dropped here, will always second any Arcanum, Wizardry or M&M shilling. As per your desire for something that specifically captures the adventure and hardship from an Everquest I would recommend Roguelikes as a means of getting that sensation, Ancient Domains...

    .

The title of this thread has curious implications that I want to discuss with you. Also Arcanum because it has a healthy dose of fantasy racism.

World of Whorecraft: Battle for Asseroth

No chance. Sad but true. WrA was good Horde side during Cataclysm, we had some pretty good player driven plots going on at the time. But yeah, it's pretty much gone to the dogs now. If I come back to the game for the next expansion, I might check out AD or DB. Cheers for the suggestions.

World of Whorecraft: Battle for Asseroth

Wyrmrest Accord RP has gone to utter toss. If you have any inclination to do it again, avoid WrA like the plague. How are all you Argent Dawn players holding up?

Poll - Best Obsidian game so far

Obsidian is made for one thing and one thing only, orgasmic storyfaggotry. Ergo, Mask of the Betrayer wins in a landslide. Voted Alpha Protocol.

World of Whorecraft: Battle for Asseroth

Oh, I don't actually do progression anymore, all that content is still quite fine, when doing heroics, I'm sure. Problem is, the rest of the game, including normal modes are quite a bit easier, at this point. Might just be a matter of me being better at the game now, who knows? The experience...

World of Whorecraft: Battle for Asseroth

As someone who still plays WoW regularly, mainly due to having a decent sized chunk of friends who play it, what is next for WoW is further decline into the realm of crushingly terrible design. The company Blizzard uses to trademark names (the same one they used for Mists of Pandaria, in fact)...

Arcanum Arcanum and Vampire: Bloodlines retrospective

Sounds like some people don't understand what 'banal' actually means.

    Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning?

Clearly what is desired is not in fact C&C, but just choices. Explains a lot.

Best stories in RPG - Player's choice

Yes, but there is a difference between a wandering hobo that's really good at knifing people and a professional monster slayer. At least from a storyfaggotry perspective.

In Progress Let's Play: Neverwinter Nights 2 (and expansions)

Off to Shandra’s farm, chances of being able to ambush the Lizardfolk near 0, but a slight slimmer of hope lives on. Yep, that sure is a farm alright. : Hnh. Looks like this is the place, but where’s… : Who are you? Did Mayne send you? Excuse the Shandra in armour picture, I derped...

Best stories in RPG - Player's choice

Shit, you've convinced me. I was unsure about putting it on my list, but it doesn't belong there. I liked it quite a lot when playing it, but looking back on it, you are totally right. Well done, good sir.

In Progress Let's Play: Neverwinter Nights 2 (and expansions)

I highly doubt it. I remember not being able to when I played it last, but I can't say for certain that there isn't a way, although with this game the odds are pretty damn low.

Best stories in RPG - Player's choice

It is, yes. But I would argue that stripped of the characters, setting, theme and such that people are listing as reasons they like it you are only getting a recount of events, which is just plot, not a story. That was where my confusion stemmed from in your post, as I said above it seemed like...
