    another feature: grand strategy games are "asymmetrical", meaning that players are more bound to a specific setup and not among equally free factions in exploring and progressing the game and an open world.

    AoW 1 on the edge, the later installments can surely be described as "Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate". AoW 1 is somewhat in the middle between 4X and a wargame
