First time playing,

The first encounter with armoured/semi-mecha enemy, was pretty intense

Game is nice, funny to see the "doom" style health and armour with bonus to expand the maximum. Been a while.

I like the AI more than most FPS games, you cannot just sit and hide for a bit because they will come run at you, and they use grenades properly.

Good fun.

That nader in the distance is pulverizing a mine with its phallic winds. The rest of the white horrors 'chanced' upon the actual town, destroying most of it in an orgy of debris and dead poor people.

A few years later and...

Fark.

Eventually had something of an uprising.

That's me in the back popping traitor scum while simultaneously piping tobacco they thought fit to stop harvesting.

In the foreground, a teamster, priest, miner, and construction worker walk out of a slum...

The riff-raff rough up the Tropico renegers - also known as Tropicannots (the 't' being silent). Meanwhile, a fat cat smokes a cigar, his suitcase full of coffee beans.

Ironically, the safest people during the uprising were the capitalists I'd been aggressively imprisoning for years.

All in all, :russia:

Hey ed, that actually looks like a fun little time waster.
Is it your average unplayable Pay-To-Not-Wait scam like Dungeon Keeper or is it worth trying?

I also like the fact that everyone is smiling like a halfwit, no matter if he's fixing a leaking pipe, extinguishing a fire or fighting raiders to death.

No, it's a typical mobile gnoming snoozefest. Like most pseudo-AAA mobile titles they'll shower you with shit at the start of the game, then it turns into a slow crawl and you're desperate to hit the in-app purchases button to make something happen. I've spent about ten bongs on it in honour of Todd, but I really don't see the long-term appeal. Something like Deadman's Cross, for example, has a pretty extensive story mode that encourages you to keep playing and levelling up, and whereas the early and mid game revolve around capturing 1-3 Star pokemans, Deadmen, your long-term goal is to grab the legendary Deadmen cards - zombified Lu Bu, Cleopatra, Julius Caesar, Satan, Yang Guifei, Oda Nobunga and so on. They're both trash but Deadman's Cross does a much better job of actually giving you an incentive to blow money on microtransactions (you can buy access to "Elite" hunts which give you a much better chance of capturing high-lvl Deadmen). Fallout Shelter is just...boring.

Highly polished and extremely enjoyable stuff. Unfortunately, it's also rather short and easy.

C64 version of Street Fighter 2 was better.

Final Fight in coop was cool, the only problem is the friendly fire, where you punch your buddy or whack him with a pipe.

I think the two best c64 games in regards to melee combat were Barbarian and Fist II.
At least of the ones I played.

FF was cool in that it allowed you to pick up and use a lot of things and to destroy stuff like trash bins.

Did you play Yie Ar Kung-Fu ? Pretty good 1 vs. 1 fighter, better than Intl. Karate IMO, although the 3-player Intl. Karate was great.

As far as "fun brawler" is concerned, this one wins in my book:

Deathwish III was better granny mauling simulator

 wtf.

While street thugs and police only carry globs, CHARLES BRONSON has a gun and a Bazooka and can reduce not only thugs, but also police and grannies, into a bloody pile of gore. Then some strange men appear and steal the corpses. These dudes are unkillable, same as the hookers that scratch their asses.

This game is a pearl from the 1980s.

The video shows a hacked version where Bronson has infinite ammo, but he also has a pistol, a shotgun and a machine gun. The machine gun has a large clip and you can hold down the fire button while using it to pump a baddie/cop/granny full of lead and slowly push them across the screen.

It's also banalshitboring when played ´correctly.`

Goal is to find a particular criminal (shown in the game as tiny blinking dot on map) and eliminate him to gain a period of peace to the streets.
It just becomes tedious circle of waiting and then rush to eliminate the target as soon as possible. There's actually no game play reason to kill any random thugs on the streets.

True. The map is divided roughly into 9 blocks, and each block has a chance of having a crime boss (crook standing by table inside a house) and the goal of the game is to kill these bosses everytime they show up. Otherwise it's just a game about surviving as long as possible and racking up a high score. Navigating around the city takes some effort to master, but it's easy once you know how.

I remember some shadow option (Soft Shadows?) just straight choke your PC even when game run well with everything Extrm (maybe except AntiAliasing) on max resolution.

Brofist for caring about gameplay more than look.
Death to graphic whores.
