How come you have so much moneyz at the end? I know it's your second game, but I am almost at the end of mine and all I have is slightly over 8000 yen. Admittedly this is due to expermenting with Persona fusion, and rebuying old personas from the compendium.

I did most of the work related social links in the latter portion of the game; They tend to pay better if your social attributes are higher. I spent many evenings folding envelopes just to get my diligence up to rank 5!

I didn't experiment with Fusions much, I do claim a lot of inexperience and ignorance in this facet of SMT.
This naturally saved me a lot of money as I didn't need to recall Personas very often outside of Social Link purposes.
I'm having trouble recalling anyone I fused apart from Black Frost (He's probably my favourite persona, wields fire and ice, absorbs both and doesn't afraid of anything.)

I also focused on raising the Fox's social link so asking him to restore my SP wouldn't bleed me dry - you'll be using him a lot in your dungeons.
I've already used him 3 times for Kanji; It would've been twice if not for the Reverse Death arcana.

I also sold a lot of loot to Daidara, I often didn't buy anything from him though as I didn't always consider the new items to be superior to my current equipment.
For example nearly all the guys were still wearing a "Jingi Fundoshi" in October, simply since he didn't offer anything I considered better.

Up to Void Quest, I also cleared the optional bosses, your second time through should allow you to just roflstomp the enemies without using too much of your resources. Money and other loot aren't scaled like experience is.


I'm certain those factors all contributed to my financial success, I'm afraid I don't have anything more specific.

On the left is the nice guy. He heals and buffs so I'd advise you to focus on killing him first.
On the right is the tough guy, he's more of a nuisance than anything else really. He mainly attacks you physically and doesn't hit very hard.

As we can see they're all weak to electricity and wind, the nice guy absorbs cold, and that the nice guy is strong against fire and the tough guy absorbs fire.
Not shown yet is physical attacks, the tough guy absorbs these as well so we won't be using rampage against them at present as that would be unproductive.

The nice guy opens up with a very gay pose; this boosts Shadow Kanji's attack, defense and agility.
Kanji spends his turn to charge up for his next attack.

Unlike the name implies, he only hits Yukiko for a pitiful 22 HP.

The nice guy is strong against physicals and the tough guy absorbed it.

Shadow Kanji uses Swift Strike. With the charge and the attack buff, he hurts like hell - we also weren't guarding.
I make a mental note to block the turn after he uses power charge.

The tough guy bolsters his own attack, and hits Yukiko for a slightly more respectable 31 HP on his next turn

I focus some of my efforts on using media afterwards...

He attacks Yukiko with an ability named "Fatal End" for 63 HP - I think the nice guy's buff was still active...

The tough guy at least missed Yukiko... whew...

The nice guy uses Dairama on the tough guy... You should kill him so he can't.
He doesn't heal himself, so thank your lucky stars he doesn't have abilities like mediarahan.

I and Yosuke have been focusing our attacks on everyone, Yukiko's mainly been healing.

Shadow Kanji follows it up with an attack on Yosuke.

I do have 2 spare "cure-everything" items, but I'm far better off saving those for a later fight, so I guess we're just going to have to put up with the poison...

Yeah, me too. Plus I didn't really bother maxing out his social link to lower the price - doing (re)quests in this game, which were required for that purpose, is so ungodly boring I couldn't be arsed about it. After some time, once I obtained Succubus persona with Spirit Drain and Invigorate 3 abilities (they replenish your SP), I just rolled through the dungeons until my companions were dry, then switched to the second tier of companions and continued on. It once happened that I was able to complete a dungeon in one go (well, the Death card helped here, however).

And doing fusions helps a lot on fights, as you can make personas with high resistance & stats learn badass abilities like counter and rampage...still, you ARE doing way better than I did when playing...

How does he do it, I have no clue.

We then go shopping at Daidara's. The loot from the previous crawl nets us somewhere north of 40,000 yen
As a result, we can now purchase a Bastard Sword, a Zweihander, a Santou, a Silk Fan, some Punk Shoes, a Knifeproof Coat, a Battle Camisole, a Desperate Plate and a Revenge Ring.

I buy just the Zweihander.

We also stop in at Shoroku's and make sure to get a bunch of status effect cures; can't have a repeat of the previous boss fight.
