Our current objective / destination:

2a4ttmx.jpg

We blow up all barricades:

301llbn.jpg

And continue north. Two RPG-specialists show up:

2s837m8.jpg

They hit the APC hard. We should take them out before our ride blows up!

2sb8qid.jpg

Charlotte and root neutralize the threat:

2z9k6de.jpg

root does the repairing again

qyhf8w.jpg

We continue east, taking out another mutie

2hy9ste.jpg

Three others show up shortly after. One to the north, one close to us (melee)

2i1o0t0.jpg

And another with RL to the south

69htw3.jpg

He helps us by blowing his melee friend to pieces.
It takes ages to take him out, be Charlotte does the job finally:

mwfxpe.jpg

The one to the north goes down much quicker (Charlotte again)

zmjxap.jpg

root tries to fix the APC but has to GTF In:

2na00if.jpg

Neinmaske solves this problem:

24g7qip.jpg

More enemies visible:

2ymf1nc.jpg

We start with the mutie to the south. Wolf KOs him (that's the only thing guys with Hunter Rifles are good for ATM), Bro finishes the job:

2pu0ao3.jpg

Another melee unit moves close, making Neinmaske happy

s170ra.jpg

Wolf drives the APC close to the trenches and kills another mutie

xcb2g.jpg

She continues the tour around the trenches, root kills another camper

2r73bjn.jpg

We can see two enemies to the north

2n7ip3t.jpg

And... the fort to the west:

2cn6zxx.jpg

nxs2f6.jpg

Suddenly, another mutant shows up in the trench, armed with Browning M2 (possibly the best Big Gun in the game)!

2ufxc0i.jpg

Neinmaske takes him out before he blows up our ride single-handedly

aoktvp.jpg

The mutant hiding in the bunker to the north hits APC with a rocket, but Charlotte takes him out shortly after that

wrbb82.jpg

Neinmaske kills another melee mutant in the trench. We end the battle.

2iiu5bl.jpg

Bro shows that Sniper Rifle + Sharpshooter Perk = Win, by attacking one of the mutants in the fort

292wdc5.jpg

TBH that's the first time this happens to me, I didn't know that attacking them from such distance was possible.

root said:
Suppose if you give me the sniper rifle, with my high PE and Luck I can try and score some mutie eye-hits on the fort
I thought that you're kidding when I read this...

Compare root's accuracy with Hunter Rifle:

fvzbxj.jpg

Bro continues raping both mutants. Suddenly, another strange thing happens: two melee mutants try to attack us, moving close to the bank of the radioactive pond:

2s67ypi.jpg

:retarded:

Maybe storming the fort will be easier than I thought?

Bro kills first mutant:

2i05et1.jpg

Yet another strange thing happens: two mutants armed with Brownings move closer!
Bro cannot hit them ATM, though...

2u4ihjm.jpg

Another mutie shows up in the trench close to us

ak92sw.jpg

His appearance brings me an idea - maybe we should take advantage of the infamous "burst bug" ourselves?

53863913300213692225.gif

Neinmaske cannot hit the enemy in the fort:

2z4fgac.jpg

Enemy is within range of Neinmaske's gun (if he wasn't, there would be red X mark instead of 0% info), but Neinmaske's BG skill or PE is too low for a successful shot.
But if Neinmaske takes this shot anyway, shooting at enemy with 0% chance of success...
He will hit ALL other units within the range of his gun:

etzko5.jpg

Voila! Burst bug in action.

Of course, most of the time WE will be the ones being shot, so...

Yeesh said:
There was a terrible, terrible burst (or auto?) fire bug in this game when I played it. I believe I was at the final official version. If it's still there, it goes like this: shoot a burst at a target. Chances of hitting the target calculated normally, everything's fine. If any other secondary targets happen to be in the cone of fire, however, said secondary target(s) seem to be hit 100% of the time with every bullet, which usually makes them just explode... even if they are way too far to be effectively damaged by (supposedly inaccurate) burst fire.

This works for both you and the enemy, and as an upshot if becomes very important to space your guys so that no two are within a cone of fire, even when you're at ranges where this wouldn't otherwise be necessary.
marooned said:
Good luck with that stupid bug that causes free death for all with burst attacks miles away. This mission is where it starts kicking in badly.
I don't know how developers could've left this bug in the game despite the patches.

Monkey kills the mutant in the trench, burst bug claims its first victim:

a135sh.jpg

Bro kills the 2nd melee mutant. Both mutants armed with Brownings are still out of range:

35i2gwk.jpg

We end the battle, Wolf moves the APC east. Both muties decide to follow us:

n18k8x.jpg

Now they're in range of Bro's Sniper Rifle and Neinmaske's gun (as long as he takes advantage of the burst bug).

:smug:

sw2zhd.jpg

Of course killing them takes fucking ages. Luckily for us, root KOs one of them at some point.
Wolf kills the unconscious enemy after a while (the floating text is messed up as always)

2yypj12.jpg

Second enemy tries to withdraw, but Bro takes him out eventually

30cri9d.jpg

Phew! That should make the final part of this mission much easier (which still doesn't mean easy) - we killed five mutants, two of them equipped with Brownings.

Charlotte leaves an APC to check out the chest in the nearby bunker. It turns out that we've forgotten about someone:

4zvm6g.jpg

:rage:

Our crazy loli was damn lucky once again!
This situation shows that using Aggressive Mode when dealing with supermutants is not such a great idea - we're unable to kill them with one shot but they're more than able to do so...

Charlotte hides in the bunker, Neinmaske punishes the rapist:

2f037mv.jpg

Wolf heals Charlotte. Charlotte carefully opens the chest (Monkey's previous fuckup learned us something).
Of course this chest isn't trapped:

sy1ezo.jpg

Let's test Charlotte's luck once again. I hope you didn't forget the mutant in the trench equipped with Browning M2...
Charlotte casts Invisibility and moves into the trench:

34ry4w2.jpg

The rest of the team covers her from the APC.
BTW - some guys from Talon Squad are still alive:

i38eb6.jpg

Charlotte reaches the dead mutant after a while:

2vadohc.jpg

She goes back to the APC with her precious loot. The problem is, Neinmaske cannot use it (it requires ST 9).

a27z9i.jpg

We will have to wait for Power Armors (or new recruits) to be able to use it. :(

The team continues east, reaching the survivors:

2rhwoeg.jpg

14uamu8.jpg
Paladin Emerald Solo
Code:
It's about fuckin' time some backup got here.

Paladin Solo, Commander of Talon Squad. It's not pretty here, Brother. They're dropping bombs like it's the Great War!

My troops are toast. I'm taking what's left of my unit and pulling out. Don't pull any punches with these muties! I watched one charge face first into some rough crossfire and laugh off the pain!

Pull that APC up and tend to my soldiers. I can walk, but my squad needs medical attention. I'm not leaving until you get them on their feet. Hope you've still got a medic.
Wolf heals all of them:

2d7j2x3.jpg

Second objective completed:

2ivmg3s.jpg

24nk7ch.jpg

We loot the place, finding another sniper rifle. There's only one man worthy of this weapon:

2qbrbpu.jpg

:salute:

We continue south, doing some mine cleaning on the way:

122bxqb.jpg

root fixes our ride, Wolf brings us close to enemies once more - the ones to the north from the starting point

jfklfq.jpg

Neinmaske uses burst bug once more, revealing more mutants:

x22pee.jpg

Bro KOs one of the mutants behind the barricade, Monkey kills the melee one

etcwfq.jpg

Wolf brings the APC close to the barricade, Charlotte and Neinmaske kill both mutants

2i89en7.jpg

We should move to the extraction point before advancing further to the north. Third objective completed:

v2xkjc.jpg

All units level up. SP distribution:

Bro - EW

29w338h.jpg

Charlotte - Throwing

1z4x1j8.jpg

Neinmaske - FA

sgpxrb.jpg

Wolf - Sneak

1199fnc.jpg

Monkey - Repair and FA

2md44uw.jpg

root - EW

97tr1w.jpg

At this moment we can leave the mission with all objectives completed.
But that would be totally POPAMOLE of course.

We go back to the frontline. Three mutants show up. Neinmaske kills 1st of them:

or7bxj.jpg

Charlotte and Monkey take out the other two

ngriaa.jpg

While looting the place, Neinmaske finds another hidden mutant. Luckily for him, the mutie does nothing, except dying:

20qdu00.jpg

ITZ time to move north

30tqb1x.jpg

Two mutants can be seen in the trench

vn18if.jpg

One of them is armed with Browning :?
Neinmaske carefully loots the area, forcing a melee mutie to show up. Our snipers take him out:

16gwqhf.jpg

The team concentrates on clearing the minefield, blowing up a shitload of mines

ipzh2d.jpg

Finally, we reach the SE corner of the trenches

25srcp2.jpg

The time has come to proceed to the final part of this area (Bro and Wolf will participate in the first phase of attack).

Charlotte takes some grenades with her

6pti6w.jpg

Neinmaske equips a RL

35m1njo.jpg

The team reaches the end of 1st trench. Charlotte finds another mutie nearby

k4hsut.jpg

She flushes him out using a grenade and blows his brains out when he tries to reach the rest of our team

2mnqk5j.jpg

Charlotte continues north, finding another hidden mutant. Bro joins her, moves east and north, finds another mutant and retreats undetected

vintbt.jpg

Charlotte attacks 1st mutant with grenades

2drcody.jpg

Bro shows himself trying to catch enemies attention. Its 2 vs 2:

10d855h.jpg

Charlotte pops out too. She is hit by grenade, but her bravery pays off:

fnbxwl.jpg

Bro, Charlotte and the mutant play hide and seek for a while (Bro acts as bait, Charlotte hides herself after every attack). Finally, the mutant leaves the playground:

20u33uo.jpg

We loot the area, Charlotte goes back to the main group

4ig29h.jpg

And continues to the next part of the trench. Two enemies there:

2dqlvgw.jpg

Neinmaske and Wolf join Charlotte, Bro attacks the mutant and hides (fucker is equipped with Browning, so direct attack would be a suicide)

357q1hi.jpg

Charlotte does the same. I was certain that Neinmaske was out of mutie's range. He wasn't:

eurnl5.jpg

Despite serious wounds, Neinmaske shoots the mutant (and hides). Wolf heals Neinmaske.
Using Bro as a MOLE (he keeps switching position from Crouch to Stand, mutant keeps missing him), Charlotte and Neinmaske kill the mutant:

zkkegy.jpg

The entire team continues west - there is another mutant nearby

2eove5v.jpg

Our guys kill him without taking any damage

2aruop.jpg

We're close to the fort now. Three mutants armed with Brownings are guarding the main entrance:

16a3401.jpg

Charlotte loots the nearby area

o0o55x.jpg

And moves into the final part of the trench. There's some survivor there:

254v5t2.jpg

25z32qh.jpg

Fucker. Luckily for him, he was found by our sapper. Charlotte deactivates the explosives.

23vjqk8.jpg
Burke
Code:
*cough cough* They got Barnaky.

He saw me hiding and he was screaming for me to kill him, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

I had a clear shot, but I know if I'd fired, those damn muties may have seen me.

Some mutants found me anyway after that. Those bastards were laughing as they tied this rig to me.

God help me, I should have taken that shot! *sob*
Poot sucker dies right after that:

biowlg.jpg

:salute:

Charlotte joins the rest of the team. We should prepare for the rape final part...
And if you think that our chances are high... well, think again (screenshot from my "lets use 5 units and see what happens" try):

3498awo.jpg

:(

From my previous playthroughs I remember, that:
  1. Main entrance is mined and heavily guarded
  2. Advancing past the bridge without sneaking is possible, but only using one unit at a time (to avoid the burst bug)
  3. If the mutie runs out of ammo, he will try to come close to our units, so generally speaking, the longer the battle lasts, the better our chances are
  4. The whole thing needs a lot of luck
  5. Using one unit at at time is the best idea - there are many mutants at the fort and most of them use Big Guns - burst bug is deadly there.
Anyway, stay tuned for...

I seem to recall it was possible to repair vehicles from inside, or was that a bug that got fixed?

Due to overall greatness (SG, Sneak, Throw) Charlotte will go first.

15z1h8l.jpg
:smug:

She takes with her a shitload of grenades and a sniper rifle:

n2ock8.jpg

Charlotte leaves the trench and... another weird thing happens: one of the guards leaves his post and moves close to the bridge!

fxchzp.jpg

WTF? He's severally wounded? Probably friendly fire / mines?
Charlotte attacks him, knocking him out after a while. She tries to move closer, finds and attacks another one

2rqoosp.jpg

This one hides. Charlotte continues west, finds another mutant:

15hicmc.jpg

She concentrates fire on the KOed one. Some invisible fuckers keep shooting at her, missing all the time:

1zasgk.jpg

Charlotte kills 1st mutant after MANY turns

28t3xx.jpg

She switches to the 2nd one:

v4t6dw.jpg

He keeps shooting back, missing all the time. After a long while, he runs out of ammo and rushes in Charlotte's direction:

4ux7pd.jpg

Bad idea:

imji8k.jpg

Charlotte switches to shotgun and takes him out:

t8435u.jpg

She goes back to the rest of the team. We end the battle:

2ef4xhg.jpg

WTF? Over 4000 EXP for killing two guards?
(We really should leave now, I bet my ass that it was all the EXP for "clearing" the fort)

49.gif

Psycho_11.jpg

Charlotte replenishes her 7.62 ammo and goes back to the frontline. She sneaks past the bridge

2111apu.jpg

and continues east, finding locked chest

6rsz6v.jpg

She continues north. There's a single mutant there, who survived Bro's sniping. Charlotte throws him a 'nade

2rhpbv5.jpg

He does the same

1692ogk.jpg

:(

Charlotte throws second grenade, mutant counterattacks.
Since he hits her much harder than she hits him, Charlotte switches to her trusty shotgun:

xbikcy.jpg

She heals herself and continues north. Fuckers are aware of her presence (she cannot sneak):

1679l3s.jpg

Both these bunkers are probably guarded. Charlotte goes north, stands up... and nearly dies:

edjx3.jpg

:(

She hits the ground, heals and switches to grenades.

apjsas.jpg

Enemy shows up after a while

23prt2.jpg

Charlotte shoots him using her shotgun. Another grenade gets the job done:

28qul5e.jpg

Its time to check out another bunker. Too bad that Charlotte still can't sneak...

dniwxy.jpg

She tries to carefully crawl west...

Due to overall greatness (SG, BG) Neinmaske will go second.

zvpz83.jpg
:retarded:

28l9bl.jpg

Some invisible fuckers attack him right away, but keep missing. Neinmaske crawls the same sad path that Charlotte followed...

nvwm4k.jpg

He unlocks the chest in the corner

28jfsw8.jpg

And grabs some shitty gun (XL70E3 Enfield). He continues north, finding another mutant standing like an ass. Let's kill him!

2v0h2dk.jpg

2ahwplg.jpg

Alright! Neinmaske reaches Charlotte's (still warm) corpse:

mku2bk.jpg

And takes her stuff (Stimpacks, Sniper Rifle and Shotgun)

k4z0bk.jpg

Crawling east is out of the question. Neinmaske tries something else - he changes position from Prone to Crouch. The result:

httm60.jpg

:(

He shoots Charlotte's killer twice:

2mocv8y.jpg

Let's try something else. Neinmaske goes to the place where Charlotte was throwing grenades from. Maybe we can snipe some fuckers from there.

nlwimr.jpg

He pops out, gets shot (-40 HP), heals himself, switches to Rocket Launcher. First shot isn't successful (he gets shot for -75 HP)

wistcn.jpg

Neinmaske heals himself, tries another two blind shots

2eap3y1.jpg

ifmwly.jpg

Two mutants killed!

15z1h8l.jpg
:salute:

Neinmaske carefully continues south, gets shot by another mutant. He counterattacks:

iwosud.jpg

This fucker has only 14 HP, but I'm not sure if Neinmaske can take him out using Sniper Rifle

1218uhi.jpg

Neinmaske tries to withdraw, gets shot once more (thank god he healed himself before that)

25ixixf.jpg

He circles the bunker counter-clockwise

29661t.jpg

And attacks another two mutants:

rk0h35.jpg

s5eo75.jpg

The 1st one hides, 2nd one gets KOed

inb985.jpg

After MANY turns, Neinmaske kills him

aemqhl.jpg

He exchanges fire with the almost-dead mutant again

v5jogj.jpg

Motherfucker! Only 11 HP but he's still dangerous!
The one to the south shows up again, Neinmaske takes him out:

10gwoqu.jpg

It time to finish off the almost-dead one. Neinmaske takes one step to the east, and...

She was so young and nuts.. :(

Awesome (and sad) update. You just lost the two best members of the team due to nasty criticals. The aproach was good but they got the bigger guns.

You should post the statistics of the fallen to see how awesome they were and how many moles they popped.

Despite his relative shityness (SG only, one good weapon) Monkey will go third.

2dlituh.jpg

16a496o.jpg

Using him in close combat would be a suicide homicide. He should concentrate on sniping enemies from a distance.
There's no point in crawling now. Let's use standing position for him. This tactic pays of fast. He finds Neinmaske's killer

6t1ogy.jpg

And takes him out

1z1sk1c.jpg

zvpz83.jpg
:salute:

Monkey carefully reaches Neinmaske's corpse

2lcaalt.jpg

And takes his stuff (Stimpacks and Shotgun)

9k2vjc.jpg

He goes into the bunker, finding two Neinmaske's victims

2exosqr.jpg

Well, what's left of them... He continues west clockwise, reaching another bunker

10dtirl.jpg

It's empty. During his horizontal exercises, Monkey finds and attacks another mutant

242zekp.jpg

This one hides, another one shows up

rc56dz.jpg

Monkey kills him after a LONG fire exchange

i23ql5.jpg

He crawls out of the bunker, finds 1st mutant

2zp1hmq.jpg

The mutant finds him too

9a0k7c.jpg

Monkey changes position and takes him out

Our Monkey-boy carefully checks out the whole fort (battle didn't end automatically)

xvwuu.jpg

But there are no more enemies in the area!

Welcome back, warrior.

The Elders have assigned me to be your commanding officer until we have further news of General Barnaky's whereabouts. Your former superior was a fine general, one of the best that I had the honour to serve with. Losing him has been a heavy blow to us all.

The Super-Mutant army destroyed a total of six full squads of our Brothers. This is a large setback for the Brotherhood, since those squads contained some of our finest veteran soldiers. We shall not forget our Brothers who fell in the line of duty, nor shall we let these feelings get in the way of our duty.

Rest assured that Intelligence searches for the General, even as we speak. Until we have a lead on where the enemy is keeping him, you will be receiving all mission briefings from me.

Go rest, warrior. You deserve it. After you are done recovering and grieving for our comrades, report back for your next mission.

You are dismissed.

No new recruits in the Center = no character editing.

Let's give a warm welcome to our two new members sisters: Phoenix and Juggalette (a.k.a. Lette)

Shortcuts feel strange now - F2 was ALWAYS Charlotte not Wolf, F3 was Neinmaske not Monkey.

Girls show up at perfect moment, especially Lette (ST=9):

Once again, we have two missions available.

A) Jefferson

281ec5d.jpg
General Dekker
Code:
We have suffered another setback, Brother. Most of our Intelligence Operatives were killed in the surprise ambush last night. I can scarcely believe it myself, but we now have to accept the possibility that the Super Mutants are familiar with our covert methods.

What is left of our intelligence ops, has discovered the location of one of the Super Mutant's staging areas. The mutants have a, semi-permanent military base in the rubble-strewn city of Jefferson. Additional reports describe multiple generators are supplying power directly to one large structure. Our scribes believe that this structure is a weapons manufacturing plant.

You have two objectives to complete here, warrior. The first is to render all of these power generators permanently inoperative. Without power, their factory is useless. Your second objective is to force the mutants into a rout. If we can get them running, they'll lead us to either their main base or to General Barnaky.

Gather your squad and leave immediately.

Dismissed!
vn002o.jpg

or

B) Kansas city

281ec5d.jpg
General Dekker
Code:
At ease Brother.

Scouts have followed one of the fleeing mutant groups to Kansas City. As we suspected, we have discovered another mutant base. But, an assault on this compound will have to wait, for our scouts have made quite a discovery.

One of our scouts stumbled upon the ghoul town of Gravestone. What little is known about the town suggests that it was a major nuclear launch site before the war. The peaceful ghoul population, which resides there, are suspected to be directly descended from the original silo staff.

They are seeking our help due to Super Mutant attacks. These attacks mean the Super Mutants are after something the ghouls have. This leads us to believe that "something" might be an intact nuclear bomb. I shudder to think what the Super Mutants would do with such a destructive device.

You will go to Gravestone and talk with the ghoul Bishop. Assure him that we will defend him and his town in exchange for the very bomb coveted by the Mutants. An attack is imminent and it will take some time to get enough squads to fully safeguard the town. Your squad must hold off the mutants until Smear and Shadow Squads arrive. Protect the ghouls of Gravestone and don't let the Bishop die. His knowledge of the nuke will be all we have. We will send Repo Squad to collect the Nuke when the Bishop consents.

The Quarter-Master will supply you with some Rad-X and Rad-Away. We advise you to monitor your radiation levels at regular intervals.

Dismissed.

Of course, the choice of next mission is yours.

A) Jefferson.

Why would we help the filthy ghouls again?

[edit]

By the way, how's the recruitment queue look? How many brave BROs will have to be streamlined before Warcupine joins the fray?

Wow. Hadn't expected to survive that mission.. Too bad that Neinmaske and Charlotte died. :salute: Guess that means it's Monkey's turn next.

One vote for Jefferson.

Long live to our fallen brothers, your deaths will not be forgotten... Guess I'll have to do a character profile then... Not now, though.

Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
Even though Kansas City is my favourite mission in FO:T, I'm gonna vote for Jefferson, even though I always did it in the opposite order. Doing Jefferson first gives you more time to prepare (and gain XP) for the showdown in Kansas City.

For the puritans here, you're kinda forced to help the ghouls in Kansas if you want to finish the game, as the nuke is important.

Oh, and listen to the voice actor for the ghoul Bishop - it's Frank Welker, using his Megatron voice to preach to the masses.

Looks like I'll be the first ghoul applying :smug:

Unfortunately, this build requires level 12 to be of *any* use, but I doubt four others will die before you complete the next mission or two.

Name: Ashery
Race: Ghoul

Stats:
3 Str
13 Per
4 End
2 Cha
6 Int
8 Agi
13 Luck

Traits:
Gifted
Fear the Reaper (Better than finesse in the long run, even if you only grab "More Criticals" twice to make up for the loss.)

Tags:
Small Guns
Energy Weapons
Last one is open to whatever is needed, but I'd prefer Sneak.

Perks:
Weapon Handling (The reason the build requires level 12)
Action Boy
Bonus Rate of Fire
Sniper
The rest is open to whatever you feel to be the most effective way to boost my sniping. I'm not familiar enough with the mechanics to state if the 20% better criticals is better than the 5% increase in crit chance.

I'm curious as to why you're stopping skills at 100%, though. I thought for sure you still gain benefits from increasing them beyond that point (Although it gets expensive as hell fairly quickly).

Edit: Forgot to vote in the original post, so I'll throw in another recommendation for the non-ghoul mission, as that's the more difficult of the two.

Just checked the wiki as well and it appears the Sniper perk is broken completely in FO:T. Still think it's a better idea to grab More Criticals instead of Weapon Finesse, though.

Since I'm so damn indecisive, here's an alternate build:

Stats:
Str 6
Per 10
End 4
Cha 2
Int 6
Agi 8
Luck 13

Traits:
Gifted
Finesse

Perks:
Action Boy
Bonus Rate of Fire
Better Criticals
More Criticals (As many ranks as possible, but get the other three first).

The rest is the same as above.

That 38% crit chance is just too tempting, hehe. Although I'm not sure how much of an effect the lost Per will have.

Damn, this is getting good, though only 2 deaths was actually a bit better than I thought it'd end with. If we ever get down to it, I'll put down a profile to aid in the good fight. :salute:

Anyhow, I vote for Kansas City.

OK. You deserve this. My final post, honest.

It's not what you look like. I actually think you are more attractive than SMA, whom I don't consider attractive at all. I just can't bring myself to trust you. And the problem isn't even with you, as such. I mean, I wouldn't trust myself. I'd say I'm about your equal in bullshitting most of the time. (OK, I'm actually much better, but I still don't trust you enough to go through with it. Tragic, I guess, but there it is.)

VD: Blah, blah.
