Stratos Group has posted a nice interview with Andy Muir, one of the Silverback guys who was a chieftan during Harbinger's development. Here's an interesting question and answer:

SG: With all the games that have come out over the years, what is your favorite, and did it have any effect on Harbinger? If so, what?

AM:
My favorite game is Starcraft. It was a tremendous influence, especially on our tool design. The Starcraft editor is an amazing piece of software, and I spent a lot of time playing with it when the game first came out. Then, when it came time to build the Harbinger editor, I knew that I wanted something that was as flexible and easy-to-use as the one Blizzard put out.

Which kind of makes you wonder if they were ever planning on releasing the editor to the public, doesn't it?
