Tons of stats, endlessly replayable and customizable you take over a character from birth right until they die. Will you lift weights and sleep in a box or do you get a secondary education, buy stocks and eat pizza every day? The choice is YOURS. And it's in REAL TIME.

It's a work in progress, there should be a casino, more diseases and drug addictions in future. Download beta version 0.1 here

Actually it's the ultimate Free Market game. You start as a homeless, parentless skinny fifteen year old living in a box, if you don't work you starve death and you have to pay for secondary education. You can do anything and become anyone from there.

Seriously though, it's only the first release (the second should be out soon) and so far you can't do all that much except leave it on in the background. But the guys who made it do complete games and have made some quite interesting ones (Bestseller - become a bestselling author, Gamebiz - start your video game company, GTA type simulators etc)

On 'slow' a month is like 5-10 seconds. If you stock up on food you can leave the game running for about a minute before you start starving.

Pretty decent.

My issues:
No loans. Almost no one goes to college without them.
You have to pay for your education in advance. You would normally spread it out over four years.
Lack of real high paying jobs. Professorship is nice, but doesn't pay that much. I would give a happiness boost to people with high education and academic jobs, but also allow them to take very high paying jobs that drain happiness.
they might want to add some kind of social life that you have to keep track of. As it is, controlling happiness with a house and tasty food is too easy.
The highest professor job is mistakenly referred to as the first science job.

And, apparently, very very hungry.

Sounds like me. The past year has been incredible for me. I've lost alot of weight, buffed myself up, bought my first car, I've started studying the classical guitar and dancing (something I've allwais wanted to do), joined my highschool's basketball team and got a thumbsup from the college I want to go to after my graduation. And I still feel more depressed then I ever felt in my entire life.

I'm depressed too because my penis does not fit in to my girlfriend's cunt. I can make her cum multiply times orally and with fingers but you know... It's ruining our relationship. There's also another chick who is my friend and fuck buddy and is secretly in love with me and the latest trick she pulled is to have a threesome with another girl whom I unfortunetely like. *sighs* I tried to take it slow with her since I'm tired of sex but she insists on it.

Peel some of your dickskin off with a cheese grater, or just soak it in ammonia to shrink it - voila, your penis fits, your loved one is happy, you are relaxed, life is great again.

You don't need to thank me, it's the least I could do!

Yep, lack of happiness was what killed me. I ate tons of beef packs which seem to raise happiness the most of any food (worked off the fat in the gym) but it wasn't enough, since I had the best house I think it must have been my job.

One guy suggested adding whores in the next one. Basic trade-off, happiness for cash and the risk of disease.

Actually no, my hunger bar was at half full, but when you die all the bars go down to zero.

Anyway, a site worth bookmarking.

Reminds me of this DOS game, "Jones in the Fast Lane", where you did the same but also competed against other players, turn based style...

Seems like your happiness depends too much on external sources. True happiness comes from within. Are weight, car possession, sport skills, education, etc. your standards, or the society's standards that you're trying to live up to? Incidentally, you didn't even list any particular social accomplishments.

Anyway, let's take dancing. The whole idea of studying it is about complying with other people's expectations of how you should act. But who is happier, one who expresses naturally what he feels through dancing, or one who is training to get "good" at it?

Do you know which people hold the record for happiness (as quantified scientifically with measurement machines)? Buddhist monks. Do you know how they attain it? Meditation. No need for possessions or high-level education.
