Well there's going to be some very pissed people with this one. There have been Player Guilds formed and waiting for years now, plus Piers Antony (an interesting SiFi/Fantasy writer) was involved in the project. Too bad.

Well, the nice thing about it is that publishers are starting to figure out that making MMORPGs are more difficult than they originally thought. They like to look at Sony and UO and think, MMORPGs = $$$, but that's often not the case. They actually cost a hell of a lot more than a normal game to make. A normal game budget might be a million bucks. An MMORPG can cost tens of millions to make. If it doesn't succeed or they run in to snags in the development, the cost skyrockets.
