<strong>[ Trailer ]</strong>

<a href="http://ve3d.ign.com/videos/16702/PlayStation-Portable/Warhammer-40-000-Squad-Commander" target="_blank">Voodoo Extreme</a> is hosting the first trailer for THQ's <a href="http://www.thq.com/games/gameinfo.php?id=1299" target="_blank">Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command</a>, a turn-based tactical title for the PSP and DS. The trailer (for the PSP version) is unfortunately 70% cinematics, but the 30% of gameplay footage looks mighty fine. Watch it <a href="http://ve3d.ign.com/videos/16702/PlayStation-Portable/Warhammer-40-000-Squad-Commander" target="_blank">here</a> and then sob quietly to yourself since they're unlikely to make something like this for the PC.

God damn you world. Surely porting these awesome TB games to PC would be trivial? It's not like there isn't a half decent market for them, especially with a Warhammer license.

one thing I wonder is why the intro has Grey Knights while the game seems to be all Ultramarines, all the time. It even mentions ultras on the audio.

I will never own a PSP nor do I like Warhammer 40K (no Skaven? wtf).

However, this is quite a shame- this looks really, really cool and I wonder if it'll be X-COMesque in terms of sheer fun.

It looks definitely better than the DS version. Oh and yes I am sobbing quietly due the reasons you have mentioned.

I'm buying both the DS and PSP version. I'll play them both at the same time while thinking of you. :P

Besides, both the PSP and DS have enough games to make them worth purchasing even for a PC/Codex elitest prick. You can buy both of them for less than a video card, and the games are $10-$20 cheaper than PC games.

Uh... the PSP goes for 284$ in Germany. That would be a pretty good video-card, I reckon!

Part of the story maybe? a squad of greys tagging along to take down a demon my guess is.

As for the game who is it being made by, i can't see a company. I didn't know thq had it's own inhouse studio.

True, 40k is mostly childish dreck. I'm just wondering which handheld is being given priority, psp for graphics, ds for controls?
