Frequently Asked Questions
What is Thystle?
Thystle is a pixel art Real Time Strategy game (RTS) that is inspired by the classics I played in my youth - Warcraft 2, Age of Empires, and Starcraft.

What is it about?
"Thystle" is the name of a massive world tree that holds multiple realms on its many branches. Within these realms reside numerous inhabitants including but not limited to: Humans, Aesir, Demons, Draeven, Giants, Vaelyr, Dragons, and Djinn. The focus of the game will be the interactions of three competing factions - the Aesir, the Meraki, and the Drun.

Who is making it?
Just a one man team for now, I go by Daoklyn on Twitter. A little about me: I'm from Florida and studied drawing and painting at University of Central Florida. I started getting into pixel art during summer of 2018 and taught myself programming starting in summer of 2016. I've worked on several small game projects but have always wanted to make a full game. I think now I have the capabilities to do so!

When did you start working on it?
Early 2019.

When will it be out?
Not for a while, but updates will be posted as often as possible.

How is it built?
I mostly use Aseprite and Pyxel Edit for the art and animation assets. For the game engine I am using Unity.

Twitter has some juice, but this is very early and basically probably out in 2030, but I'm already super stoked. Looks really pretty.

That actually is nice. The people could use some work, but then, that's true of nearly every pixel art game.
