Been watching gameplay of this over the past couple days. Looks like it's definitely less focused than Ninja Gaiden Black, Nioh and Wo Long but there's only so many times you can play Ninja Gaiden Black, Nioh and Wo Long. A mediocre Team Ninja game is still comparatively better than 99.9% of all other games and I'm not a fan of making perfection the enemy of good.
:d1p:(on PC)
Completely agree. "Making the perfect the enemy of the good" is this place's modus operandi.

I'm sure there is a limit to the number if times I can play Nioh, but the two games so far certainly have not hit it for me yet. Stop fucking around with inferior corruptions of the formula and give me Nioh 3 you morons.

Wo Long doesn't belong on that list at all.

Japanese seems to prefer it to DD2.

I can't honestly wait for the PC port.

Looking into the game more and more since it released, I have not doubt I'm going to enjoy it when I can finally get my hands on it, checklist open-world stuff aside. Really wish a PC release wasn't likely a year out, but I'm glad we'll be getting the ultimate edition when it does get here.

Surprisingly, most of the people seem to enjoy this game - mostly positive reviews whenever I see, still selling well, 8.6 user score on metacritic. It's definitely not shit from what I see, but hard to judge how much of this is just normies experiencing a good combat system for the first time in their life.

The game has sold close to 1 million copies according to this:

https://www.resetera.com/threads/am...aus-and-stellar-blade-demo-0-69m-daus.841887/

"The console and PC games markets are currently awash with ARPGs, with a number of these emerging from Asian studios. Dragon's Dogma 2 and Rise of the Ronin were just two new additions to the genre in March, garnering upwards of 2m monthly active users (MAUs) and just shy of 1m MAUs respectively according to Ampere's Games Analytics data; plus the hotly-anticipated new Elden Ring DLC is set for release in June. Clearly there is increasing competition in this space, but at the moment, the consumer appetite for APRGs seems to continue to match, or even outpace, relevant content releases."

P.S. Stellar Blade could be huge. Daily active user numbers for the Stellar Blade demo have more than doubled those seen for the FFVII Rebirth demo.
