So after what seems a long hiatus I've finally returned to bring you all a new update! It is a rather big one, enough to warrant an increase from version 8.x to 9.x. The big new things are talents, bonusses which work a little like World of Warcraft talents, or D&D's feats. You may start with some, humans start with more (yes, the humans needed a boost ;)), and you may learn new ones by leveling up. Of course the RNG still has some role to play.

This game is a hoax. The purpose was to gather statistical information for a University project. We reviewed individual YouTube accounts, as well as the forum posting history of various users who expressed interest in the game, to determine if they are also avid players of other extremely violent games. We paid special attention to gamers who sent us PM's with extremely disturbing, sexually explicit content suggestions. There's a lot of you out there. We only needed the statistics of around 100 users, though we've ended up with much, much more than that due to how quickly the game has spread.

Soggie's 7 day roguelike, InfestedRL, was a complete failure that will haunt him to the end of his short life.
Still looks awesome :salute: carry on Soggie.

Just learned about and lost Serial Killer RL in the same instant. Disappointing. Guess it's back to cats and dogs for me.

It will be extra funny when big brother starts troll projects to ensnare bad guys. The codex ranks will be devastated :(

WAIT....there's a roguelike where you DON'T roleplay a serial killer. My roguelike characters usually clock up a few thousand kills, which really can't be explained by loot-hunger, as for that effort he could have started a successful business...

You don't understand. You're a serial killer if you kill, say, 50 persons or so. If you kill thousands you're a hero.

Oh, and also I like that the 7 day game guy's solution to his failure is to have the actual work of the game done before starting the challenge. Now these challenge things make more sense to me.

I wonder out of how many of those people also listened to any forms of metal?

It will be even less active than the ADVENTRUE forum.

Btw, if any of you feel productive, you can use the Tales of Middle Earth engine to create any roguelike you want.

I'll say it again. Codex roguelike.
But yeah, a board's probably not necessary. Roguelike threads are about the only ones in General RPG that aren't "OH GOD I HATE THE NEW SHIT SO MUCH I CAN'T STOP PLAYING IT OHHHHH GOOOOOOOD" as it is, might as well leave them there.
