So i was playing PES 2009 today and the truth was revealed to me.
Pes is an action rpg with some decent choices and consequences.
To begin with there are many ways that you can play the game for example you can play it using only one player(a solo experience for the player hides something!),using a party you can even betray your team. There are also multiple solutions to the quests(Which in that case are called matches) as you can score a penalty,a powerful shoot or just own goal yourself. Also your skills can play a very serious role since you can use them to get away out of some different situations(you can use bluff and trick those who have low skills). As for the part of c'n'c these are most shown when playing master league. For example should you lose many games then the consequence is that you will not going to get the league and which can even have many other more serious consequences as you won't be able to buy players and the team will be consisted of crap and then you will fail and start falling off categories and this can leave to your existence. All in all,Pro Evolution Soccer is by far a better rpg than any other shit that is about to come this year(SoZ excluded or AoD)

Football Manager for the win! Has more stats than you lot could ever shake your stick at, and you have no clue how deep an impact the consequences of your choice can ever have without an opponent's winger getting you sacked by making it past your slow as molasses full back you wasted 10 million pounds on pre-season, allowing him to score that devastating goal in the very last minute of a career ending match. No maze of pre-scripted dialogue trees chock full of fanfic fiction comes close. And blow those quests. They are so cliché.

Anyway, playing two against two in PES sure must be nice, but it boggles the mind why no one has created a football MMO yet. Just imagine a true game of 11 vs 11, or even a billion teams of eleven from all over the world pitted against each other! Ah well..

um... because no one wants to play keeper?

I disagree.
Playing keeper would actually be quite fun, at least from my experience with football. Well, it's not that fun when those defenders are full of shit, but it's a really responsible task anyway.

Also +1 on the Football Manager post
