HomeLAN Fed has an interview with Vitaly Shutov of MISTLand about their new tactical CRPG, Power of Law. Here's a bit on the characters:

HomeLAN - What kinds of playable characters will be in Power of Law?

Vitaly Shutov - The player could operate several characters. Each of them changes their physical and experience parameters during the game process. The game has some central characters and the player’s squad could contain up to 6 members. It’s an interactive project. Passing the game you can change the equipment and weapon, talk to citizens etc. You can communicate the enemy even during the exchange of fire! Sure, there are a lot of special characters, that keep missions and tasks for player. The tactical part is the main in the game. The quests are just an additional feature, all other time presents fighting.

The main hero of the game is a young police lady Kate. She’s a great sniper and just a beautiful woman. In the beginning of the game she lives in the black & white world and wants a peace in the world. Her future life is depends on the storyline. May be, after the horrible fight with the evil forces she’ll keep the naive soul and belief in the kind and fair world, but may be she’ll understand, that it would be better to keep yourself. Cuz it’s impossible to save everybody. Who knows…

Communication with the enemies during combat is something I've wanted to see for a long, long time.
