Nethack Falcon's Eye

While working on my amazing CRPG master list (shameless plug), I noticed a graphical nethack variant called Falcon's Eye. It looks kind of interesting and I was wondering if any has played this recently. I found a few old threads but nothing recent. Is this worth checking out, thoughts, opinions?

Never liked the way it looks myself. Noegnud is way cooler, but took me forever to set up.

It definitely makes playing Nethack a lot easier, as far as organising your inventory is concerned. If that's what you're looking for in addition to better graphical representation of the layout of the world, then I'd recommend it.

I much prefer the topdown low-res tiles for graphical nethack, you lose way too much of the view with Falcon's Eye (admittedly the last time I tried it, my max res was 1024x768 so maybe it's not so bad)

Most of the SLASH'EM 3D tiles I've seen were a little too cutesy for my refined taste. Are there better ones out there?

Part of Nethack's charm is that you are supposed to be able to see an entire dungeon floor on one screen (same for ADOM) and all the graphic-ized versions I've seen fuck that up. Stuff like Dungeon Crawl has a more intensive UI with a minimap that makes graphics less destructive.
