So JA purists, which version you find more enjoyable? JA 1 or Mr Blakemore 2 edition?

2. Although I would have preferred it if Hitman hadn't become a useless fatass and some others had returned, like Major something. Also Static used to be cool, but he was pretty boring in 2.

Hitman was ok in 2, if it's the guy I'm thinking of. Bad health but good marksmanship and smallish pay, and good at training troops most importantly.

I used to use Hitman all the time in JA1.

JA:Deadly Games was pretty fun with the random campaigns. Got pretty darn hard and it was tough keeping people if you lost a few. Sucks to is that you WILL eventually lose an assassin mission if the civilian is stuck in some inaccessible area. Same with finding items, but it was still fun. Mercs seemed to hate each other more back then.

But JA2 is just such an improvement especially with mods that it has become immortal at this point. Unless someone manages to top it, I can't see it becoming dead any time soon.

I loved JA 1 and the sequel improved on it almost every way. Incredible feat.

JA 1 had a very few things better than the sequel.
- iron man mode for the combat, fantastic, I bit my nails off many many times. JA 2 got really soft here, with Autosave feature.
- weapon sequence. Only pistols in first 12 sectors. And then... big sector, no trees and a guy with a shotgun shooting your guys for fun. Thrilling conception.
- good counter-attacking enemy squads, some unforgettable last-gasp situations there.
- impassable jungle / river maze sectors where you had wade, climb, shoot.
- day time limit, forcing you to take as many sectors as possible
- Fidel "leave me alone"
