Social media users whine about “terrorism” in Grand Theft Auto

A viral Twitter post wishing for more buildings that can be explored in the next Grand Theft Auto game has attracted random complaints from other users about “terrorism”.
The initial Twitter post merely talked about something the individual wanted to see in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI:
However, the attached video instilled “fear and loathing” in the usual Twitter suspects, who were somehow unaware that Grand Theft Auto is a series of sandbox games where players can do as they please, with a main story campaign that typically involves committing crimes.
While not the majority in the slightest, there were still a handful of comments from people “revolted” by the violence ensuing in the post’s attached video.
Many found these comments ironic as such critics are now imitating the out of touch opinions of politicians who used to criticize Grand Theft Auto (a fictional game) over the exact same thing.
Some of the aforementioned comments (along with a couple insightful ones):
Nichegaming has declined HARD by the way. Same with Bounding into Comics.

I heard about this the other day. The even funnier thing, besides Gmanlives being one of the people bitching about it too, is that the person that kicked all the complaining off just did it to promote some porn account.

I’d be surprised if GTA6 became less violent. I mean, for one thing 4 and 5 aren’t particularly violent to begin with. So at the very least, they aren’t getting less violent than those games. But that said, Red Dead Redemption 2 was their last game, and it runs in the same engine, and that game just implemented the biggest damage models a Rockstar game has had in forever. I think RDR2 is the first Rockstar game since GTA3 where you can blow off someone’s head and any of their limbs. If anything I’d expect GTA6 to be the most violent GTA there’s been. Although I don’t expect the Kill Bill levels of blood shooting out when you do something like during the PS2 era of GTA; which is a shame, they should bring that back.

Rockstar went from a bunch of scots making fun of american culture to fully embracing the "current thing" and going full w0ke.
The older GTA games were great because they were not entirely serious and were mostly equal opportunity offenders in the vein of South Park. It was parody of a sort.
Anything past Vice City just isn't really awesome (for me, at least).

GTA V the game may not be Woke, but their online policies certainly are.
Example: my username, Hagashager, has never been flagged as inappropriate by any service except GTA V online.

Hard to get excited about it. Open world crime 'em up games have lost their allure, at least for me. Also, is it gonna look significantly better than GTA V with mods or say CP2077?
