Ubisoft has made a statement claiming that EndWar Online is not going to be the entire series from now on and it will not replace a potential EndWar 2.

The most important point to keep in mind is that EndWar Online is not “instead of” EndWar 2. We never found ourselves asking the question Should we make EndWar 2 or EndWar Online? It doesn’t work like that. Our team was very much focused on making a high quality browser-based game for the core gaming community, and we wanted to bring the EndWar universe to as many gamers as possible. The two desires seemed like a perfect fit, so we pitched the idea and went about creating EndWar Online.

We see EndWar Online as a great chance to continue the story and expand the EndWar universe – to bring it to life in a new way and make the experience significantly larger and deeper. In EndWar Online you will lead your own Faction, recruit army generals, customize units, research weapons, rebuild countries destroyed after World War 3 and engage in the global Theatre of War. Millions of players around the world will be playing together.

An actual EndWar 2 is not confirmed.

The most I remember from EndWar was stuff like

UNIT ONE MOVE TO BRAVO

UNIT THREE MOVE TO ZULU

NUCLEAR STRIKE ON ALPHA

etc etc. Voice comm was pretty bad but fun. It was worth the 10 euros I payed for it if for the tank/apc fights in Berlin alone.

The worst part of EndWar was how ridiculously dumbed down it was to work with voice commands, yet the game played much better overall with the mouse than voice commands.

The game tanked really fast and dropped to an insane low price. It served really well as a break from World in Conflict. (and that should let you know how casual the game was)

Obviously entertaining no hopes about how the sequel(s) will be, especially since it's Ubisoft.

what is endwar?

An attempt to adapt the RTS/RTT genre to consoles by dumbing it down beyond Oblivion and trying to replace a mouse with voice commands. Fortunately it failed both commercially and as a game.

:incline:

Unfortunately this will not stop other greedy asshole publishers from trying again to shove the last game genres enshrined in PC down the toilet.

I could see Paradox trying something as idiotic as EndWar to their Grand Strategy series in the future.

Can you see the manly tears in his eyes. :smug:

Hmm reminds me of C&C Generals somewhat.
