Just as I was getting bored of my regular strategy games and needed something new, it came to my attention that a fanmade patch for Dune Wars has been released!
On top of a number of balance fixes, it also tinkers a lot with the various factions and adds various features. For instance, Fremen will now earn Water (food) for killing enemy units, draining their corpses for the good of the tribe, and Tleilaxu units can now steal promotions from those they defeat (facedancer mimicry.) Several units have also been added, most notably the Ordos Deviator rocket launcher, which has a chance of converting enemy units to your cause, the Ordos raider trike and Atreides sonic tank.
