Yup, we're pimping the hell out of Devil Whiskey this week, and next, so we've prepared an interview for you! That's right, just for you! Here's a clip:

5.) Can you explain what the differences of the races are in terms of how they affect the character? What makes an Elf special? What's so good about being a big lizard?

There are a couple of different things that the races do. First, off, the maximum and minimum stats for each race are different - an Elf, for instance, has a naturally high intelligence and dexterity, but a lower strength. There are also various class restrictions - certain races are more suited to certain disciplines, so there are many classes which any particular race cannot participate in. The Saurian is a special case in many ways - the Red Claw class is a very powerful barbarian, but only Saurians can be Red Claws. And of course, the different pictures ;-)

Yeah, but they're still big lizards! Big, smelly, scaley lizards!

Oh yeah, and while I'm at it, we're hosting a dev chat with Shifting Suns about Devil Whiskey this coming Tuesday as well! Here's the info:

When: Tuesday, October 7th at 8PM ET
Where: #rpgcodex on irc.gamesnet.net.
Who: The guys who made and are still working on Devil Whiskey
Why: Because we love you.

So, go download the demo, and be ready to question the hell out of those guys about it!

I am looking forward to this title. The demo was decent enough and definitely has that old school feel to it.

While I still prefer isometric as the default viewpoint of CRPGs, I also happen to like a lot of depth and this game seems to have that covered.
