It is. Only played it for about an hour so far, but in the scenes where you 'motivate' them (smack away their temptations and fears) the screen is now blocked by a pink haze. It vanishes bit by bit as the mini-game goes on but you never really get a clear idea of what's going on. Also, the girl is mostly silent as composed to the original version where she audibly responds to your every smack.
