Has anyone given it another try? How is the difficulty?

I remember trying it on tpb a few months back and was pretty underwhelmed. Thig is, its gotten a pretty major content update in May - lots of rebalancing and some new content, biggest thing is a big ass alien invasion that happens near mid-game.
Not saying the patch has miraculously dispelled all it's flaws, but it may be worth checking out (as long as your hopes aren't too upped).
When it comes to difficulty, I suppose it goes down by a few notches after a few full playthroughs, but I had a good time being raped by endless hordes of xenos when I turned up alien agression to the max just to see what happens.
