As Hellraiser pointed out, there's also a video interview at Gamespot ("We can't wait to see how excited players get when they start unlocking achievements!") and a gameplay clip at DailyMotion. The gameplay clip looks entertaining, but there's way too much chatter from the troops. I found that annoying after one minute so I can't imagine how it's going to be after hours of playing.

Gone are the laborious resource-gathering chores, the base building, and the legions of faceless cannon-fodder units. Instead: shorter missions, active cover mechanics and abilities, and controlling an elite set of squads that you’ll know on a first-name basis.
Translation: Gone is all the interesting stuff that actually adds depth and strategy to the game. Instead: EXPLOSIONS ARE KEWL!! KABLOOEY. BLAM-BLAM. BANG.

I love how every review singles out this sore point and then turns around to sell it as some kind of saving grace. "Resource gathering and making stuff is sooo old school and boring. New games have less stuff to do and that's AWESOME and if it's not over in five minutes, it's too hard".

I didn't think it was possible to make Dawn of War suck harder.

I find it worrying that only EG clears up the multiplayer side (on their second page), where the hell is that multiplayer beta for Soulstorm owners?

Too much chatter in that clip idd and the small scale terrifies me a bit, it's almost Diablo 40.00. It certainly doesn't look like the average RTS campaign, more like those short Tanya-missions in C&C but without a hot chick in the briefing video...

I think one of the relic devs or THQ representatives on relicnews said that they only let Eurogamer take a look at the multi.

The beta is most likely a month or 2 away if the q1 release date is still the target.

Might be they increased the amount of chatter for these previews and will tone it down for the beta/release.

What I didn't like was that the voice acting was pretty uninspired compared to the previous DOW and the character portraits look crappy. The UI takes up too much screen space, but I guess that's normal in its early state.

Single-player: Some tactical RPG thing with console style boss life meter and squad leaders that don't die.

Multiplayer: Company of Heroes with Dawn of War skin.

But hey, blood, explosions, and you get to play Nazi Übermensch without feeling the guilt.
