As a kid I read the Goosebumps books, as our library had them. Also some Mickey Mouse comics had gamebook elements, those were fun. Later I loved the Sorcery! books on my phone in digital form. I bought the Fighting Fantasy books recently on Steam, but they are much worse than Sorcery! and somewhat worse than Goosebumps if I remember right.
